About the Author

TIM DOWDY is senior pastor of Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia. Under his leadership, the congregation has grown from 39 members to a church of more than 4000 in the past seventeen years. He has a passion for youth and understands what it's like to flounder in fear and uncertainty through those tumultuous years. Tim and his wife, Christie, have one son and live in the greater Atlanta area.

TIM LUKE serves as adult pastor at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church. Before becoming a pastor, Tim served as editor of In Touch magazine. The former journalist worked as a sportswriter for ten years. His first book was the souvenir book Atlanta Braves: 1995 World Champions. Tim and his wife, Karen, have two sons.

Tim Dowdy knew what it was like to have his dreams destroyed. Suddenly he did not know what to do with his future. As he looked around him, he saw people excited about life. He had lost his goals, his passion, and enthusiasm for the future. God had a plan for his life, just as he has a plan for everyone's life. Dowdy found his spark, renewed enthusiasm, and passion. God called him to be a pastor and a preacher. By using the acrostic D-R-E-A-M, he explores the "five major areas of life." Decisions, Relationships, Enthusiasm, Aspirations, Mission.

Decision: You must decide who Jesus Christ is. Whom you serve is the most important decision you will ever make.

Relationships: "Moving with the in crowd, involvement, influence, intimacy and investment. "

Enthusiasm: You need to be excited about life moving forward but first make sure you are going in the direction God is leading.

Aspirations: "Aspirations and achievements are good when centered upon Christ and His will for you."

Mission: God has a plan, "a mission" for your life. Our mission in life should be in step with His mission.

"Don't Forget to Dream" by Tim Dowdy is a book of encouragement for young people. Many times they set goals for themselves only to have them crushed. Dowdy's book offers hope for crushed dreams. He offers the path to fulfilled dreams. Each chapter contains anecdotes from Dowdy's memories, scripture that supports Dowdy's statements, words of encouragement and a challenge. Dream Resolution is an area to record your intentions in that particular area. I highly recommend this book for high school, college students, and all young people. This would make a fabulous graduation gift.
