Item Photo is Misleading: You Get One Piece, Not Two,

I'll keep this at five stars so as to not adversely tilt the average for the product itself--the product is well designed and works well; but, I overlooked the "small type" at the very end of the description that acknowledges that despite everything else on the page (photographs, plural item title), there is only one piece, not two.
At $10.56 for two pieces, I thought that was an appropriate cost; but, $10.56 for one piece is a bit pricey for a crack'n'peel template. I researched the Internet for more information about the "Don't Fret..." item and it seems Amazon keeps getting pointed to as the place to purchase it (from other stores and violin/fiddle pages, for example). Whoever put up the misleading photo and description has the responsibility to correct that, or at least give more prominence to it being only one piece, not the implied two. So, lacking that: be advised this this item contains just one piece, not the implied two.

Caveat Emptor! One size doesn't fit all!,

I purchased this (not on Amazon - I won't mention the site) for less than half of the price here, and I was excited. I am a beginner (almost intermediate), and I really thought this product would assist me. I brought it to my next lesson, and my instructor and other staff at the music shop struggled with this for quite a while before bringing me the bad news: Try as they might, it just didn't line up with my German-made 4/4 sized fiddle (made in 1956). All violins are not standard in their length, size, tuning, etc. This is a great 'all-in-one' tape product idea, but I would recommend just using the single tapes method, applied piece-meal, by your instructor in the properly-tuned location for your particular violin. They even make kits of those single tapes that are much less expensive and good quality. All of this said, YOUR experience may vary with this product - as it has done the trick for other reviewers here. Good luck in your fiddling and violin playing and learning! It might be nicknamed The Devil's Instrument, but playing it can be rather heavenly!

I bought one of these for my daughter's violin, she just started lessons. Seemed like a great idea. Her teacher thought it was pretty cool too...until she tested it out. Although I applied it correctly, the lines were not in the right fret locations! I had to peel it off and throw it away. I suggest just letting the teacher apply tape to the correct locations. Big waste of money!

The don't fret is a nice tool when my instructor saw it he wanted to know where I got it because he doesn't like having to mess with the tape and with the no fret you put it in place and then all the positions are marked.

I am learning to play the violin by myself. I saw on videos and books that some people use the tape as visual aids to learn the correct position of the notes. I decided to buy this aid rather than putting a tape for each note.
It's actually a wonderful aid. It took me some extra work to place it in the right place. I had to use a tuner so that i would place the first bar in the right place. It was quite easy to place it on the violin also. I hope it will come out just as easily. You cannot feel it with your fingers when you play. I would recommend it to all players especially those who are learning without a teacher.
