The combo of delicious-sounding, easy-to-follow recipes, cooking tips & warnings, & anecdotes about society & culture in Buenos Aires was enticing & delightful. The writing style is personable, witty, and just slightly sardonic, likely fitting the author's general personality.
Concerns expressed about carefully & wisely choosing to emigrate to a new life in a very different place seemed well-founded.

Enjoy this culinary & personalized gem! Benzmom

An engaging collection of short pieces makes this a very readable book. Dan's experiences in Argentina, which he now calls home, are filled with humor and insights. Although this is not a cookbook, there are some enticing recipes following some of the stories. Dan comes across as a very interesting fellow who takes advantage of what life has to offer.

My husband asked me to order this book and read it before our trip to South America. On our first night in Argentina, he surprised me with a reservation at Dan's place. What fun! Eight of us from all over the world trading stories and having an amazing meal. Dan's story is an interesting one, indeed.

Had no real idea how well this was written. Having visited Buenos Aires and Argentina four times, I was interested in what he might say. I'm an amateur chef with 45+ years of serious food prep behind me. Found Dan Perlman's interesting comments on food, and life in Buenos Aires a fun read. Also appreciated the recipes he provides in the text. Definitely worth the price.
