Would you Imagine a Jobim Medley by a Big Band Could Hip?,
By
This review is from: Don't Get Around Much Anymore (Audio CD)
Trombonist and arranger Rob McConnell presents one more series of great creative arrangements for big band. Though I don't love medleys I recommend the two ones on the CD due to the special blend so well crafted by McConnell on Tom Jobim material and on the extraordinary David Raksin's "The Bad and The Beautiful" which he blended with a song penned by himself. Stimulating, creative, sensitive.
