I got this with a little hesitation. I mean, I bought the first Killarmy cd, and it was pretty good, but not great, then I got Sunz of Man, thinking, oh if Killah Priest and Shabazz the Disciple is in it, it's gotta be classic. I was wrong with that, it was only mediocre, and didn't even buy Wu Syndicate after listening to the album. Don't get me wrong, there are good Wu affiliated stuff out there, like Shabazz's solo ish, and Gravediggaz, and the second Killarmy, but there was so much garbage from 98 and on from the Wu family, I lost a lot of faith. I bought it because I heard smokin so I was hopefull. Boy, did my gamble pay off. The only song that doesn't do it for me was Party People, that beat is just one of those annoying beats that sounds like it should have been on Coolio's second album. Other than that, the beats were rugged, some actually sounded as if it came from Wu Tang's 36 Chambers. The lyrics are good, not great, hence the 4 stars. But hey, they even said they may not be the best lyrically (not quoted exactly) but at least they come correct and don't talk about being hustlas and shooting music videos with a bunch of prostitutes in the background. They talk about real life and do a good job with their battle raps. Get this. One of the stronger Wu joints post 98 era. Also get Inspectah, Shabaaz, and Genius. their the only good ones left.

These cats are NOT Wu affiliated. I can't believe all y'all aint knowin that. Does no one remember when this 1st came out and all of the real Wu members were talkin s#!t cuz theez cats stole their name n everything? There's even a skit somewhere on this album where their tellin the real Wu-Tang not to hate and this n that. Wake up people. Aside from all dat....this is a wack cd anyway. These fools r str8 garbage.

Yo, this cd is a classic. GP had it, this cd was everythin every Wu-Fam or underground hip hop head was expecting. I had bought this once when it came out but it was stolen from me. As this cd was so good, I decided to buy it again. I believe they broke up but I suggest to all buyers to also check out Pop Da Brown Hornet, thats a classic as well. Was worth the money and always will be.

GP Wu who i'd never heard of before I bought this album, turned out to be very very good at what they do. When I bought this i was into Wu-Tang a lot so I'd buy anything with there name on it. But now I don't buy anything by the Wu unless it's Meth, ODB or Raekwon. Gp Wu, if they ever release a new cd, i'd probably buy it too. This is a real good album. "Party People" is just a tight song, "Smoking" and "Don't Go Against The Grain" are 2 of the other tightest tracks on here. Gp Wu is what the Wu needs to practice more often.Good lyrics, but put with good beats! This album is very complete with a nice song called "Hip Hop" which is really well put together. Personifying the word Hip Hop. Basically Pop Da Brown Hornet, June Luva, Rubbabandz and Down Low Recka put together a solid LP that everyone should buy.

Im a fan of wutang,killarmy,wu-renegade, sunz of man but gp wu is just plain wack. First the beats? Dey wack & lirycs? I've heard better even their name is pretty gay. Black on black crime is one of the worse songs i've heard. Don't buy GP WU'S " Don't Go Against the Grain" coz its corny , wack, and boring with terrible beats. Not recommended.
