Children who have lived with domestic violence in their home have experienced a traumatic event. Child-Parent Psychotherapy is the most effective practice to date that addresses child trauma as a result of witnessing domestic violence. The clinicians at our violence prevention organization use this book as a guide for their work with moms and kids who have recently left their abusers. It is very comprehensive and practical. I highly recommend integrating this manual into your own practice.

One of the best books I have read this year. So many great quotes on how to respond to difficult situations. I really appreciated the chapter for case management and will use to help train in the future.

A very in depth and practical guide for clinicians working with parent child dyads.Case vignettes are useful in providing guidance for how to respond and provide interventions as issues arise in session.

Alicia Lieberman and Patricia Van Horn have contributed invaluably to the understanding of severe trauma in infants and toddlers. My training with them has been transformative in my own clinical work. This book is an easily usable manual that gives and overview of CPP.

A wealth of practical knowledge on a very important topic. The title sounds aimed at the general public but it is actually a very effective training manual.

Have not had a chance yet to read all of the book but have gotten great reviews from other practitioners. Not super crazy about the title.
