There are also some great notes from the artist on a lot of posters he's done.

This is a boss collection of work by a young artist who has made a deservedly big impact on the rock poster scene.

Let me just disclose that Brian is a friend of mine, a fellow artist, and we both worked at Kinko's back when we were little nerds with big dreams of becoming professional artists. I've known Brian for over 18 years and I've been waiting for this book for over 18 years! It's been worth the wait. Brian has risen to the highest ranks of rock poster stardom and he remains one of the coolest guys I know. This book is packed with art and just about every piece of art in the book comes with Brian's own personal insights, which is something many art books lack. It's really cool to read Brian's thoughts about a piece of art and how it came to exist. Also in the book are quotes about Brian's work from a who's who of a-list talents in the rock and art worlds. The art is ofcourse top-notch. There's a reason Brian's work is so sought after. It will literally take you days to absorb everything in this book and you'll want to view it again and again.

this guy has fallen under the radar of the 'poster art' genre, but he's much deserving of the title of rock poster artist. the book is filled with so much work (TONS OF IT), odes and collateral for so many great rock bands and the shows they played for the last 10 or so years.

brian ewing is also known for his craft - he's an artist who still works traditionally with pen/pencil, inking all his work by hand (no vector here, there or anywhere) and drawing from real references and models. its a dying breed. its rare to find someone in the genre today who isn't using clip-art, tracing fashion magazine pages, and pushing some snazzy photoshop brush techniques to get their work done. throughout the illustrations and posters are his very own notes/memories of each job. hysterical recollections, funny gripes - stuff you never hear about.

overall this book is fun look at rock shows and a great reference artistically to how it should/could be done.

Im not going to lie.. i new this book was going to be so good that i actually had a friend by me the Limited Super Rad Box set from Comic-Con this year. Ive been into Brian Ewing for a few years now . Starting with Warp Tour. All it takes is one poster that catches your eye and you will be hooked. sure enough im hooked.. and this book has alot of the coolest art work you will see. Its more then just his posters.. what i dug was seeing all the different bands he worked with. he will tell you how some of them came to be, how he did them.. pre-sketchs. If you are into Emo, Skulls, Women and anything else you need to get this book.. If you are looking at this page you know who Brian is and you know what he does.. now get the book with everything in it for a great price!

Ewing is quickly becoming a staple in the punk rock scene. He is able to create a visual to go along with the music, which is no easy task. He manages to make every image unique while also putting his look and feel into it. He is accessible to those who are striving to become successful artist themselves, going so far to provide tutorials and sketchbooks to portray how his pieces come together. Great artist, great guy. Pick up the book and keep it on your coffee table, it's bound to start conversation and show you have some style & indie cred.
