4.0 out of 5 stars This band is on their way up..., June 23, 2004

I saw them in Orlando open up for Phantom Planet(who rules), and they were incredible. My friends and I had never heard of them until the night of the concert. Needless to say we were fans by the end of the night. The guys were really cool after the show and were really appreciative of the new fans they just made. When their album dropped I scooped it up. The album is incredible from Plague to Time is Industry. The songs are even better live, so check'em out before everybody starts hears abouth them.

I've seen these guys in Las Vegas opening up for Zebrahead and I've never seen so much energy. John is just totally amazing. Alex impressed everyone with his heavy drumming. Brian's guitar is just totally screaming and James just blow our minds with his bass guitar. Buy the CD and check them out in concert you'll never regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great band, great CD. BUY IT!!, May 10, 2004

I saw Lola Ray play in LaCrosse On May 8th with Allister, Split Habit, and Punchline and they were insane. John Balicanta (lead vocalist) is one of the most amazing live performers I have ever seen. The energy he gives off on stage is indescribable. I met the guys after the show in the merch area and they're all awesome. I think the only good thing about GC signing them to DC Flag is that now they'll get the publicity they deserve (hopefully). BUY THIS CD!! You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lola Ray is definitely a band to watch, June 10, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: I Don't Know You (Audio CD)
Pop-rock bands with punk tendencies are a dime a dozen these days, so for one to stand out as much as Lola Ray does is a big deal. As far as I'm concerned, Lola Ray trounces the competition in their genre in every category: first and foremost there are the streamlined, well-written, catchy as hell songs that have all the characteristics of great pop music but also manage to rock hard, then the energetic, charismatic frontperson, hard hitting rhythm section and overall way above average musicianship. From the hit single waiting to happen "Automatic Girl" to the punchy opener "Plague (we need no victims) to the softer "Charlit Movie Star", their first offering on Good Charlotte's D.C. Flag records features unique and well paced songs and energetic performances making for a total winner of a record. I also feel that this band has the potential to be loved by fans of many different genres. Definitely a band to watch because I'm sure they will go places!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great great band, May 4, 2004

I've been into these guys for almost a year now and they are really great. Don't let the fact that they're on Benji and Joel from Good Charlotte's label influence you either way. They don't remind me of GC at all which is a good thing in my opinion. I can't really explain their style (and I don't want to try), but all I can say is just listen to the audio clips decide for yourself. If you can see them live, definitely try to make it out because that's where they really shine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Power pop band from NYC..., December 27, 2004
This review is from: I Don't Know You (Audio CD)
This is the debut album of a power pop band from NYC. The CD is on the Good Charlotte label DC Flag but don't hold that against them. It's a pretty good album with three exceptional cuts that have a lot of energy and good hooks..."Plague", "What It Feels Like" and "Automatic Girl".

4.0 out of 5 stars New Band with awesome original sound, May 4, 2004

This review is from: I Don't Know You (Audio CD)
I've listened to Lola Ray's "I Don't Know You" and have seen them preform some live. This is an extremely talented group and a must have for your CD collection. Each track is catchy but different in it's own way so you really get some variety!
Some to really pay attention to are
"Charlit Movie Star" " Our Brown Friends" and "Good Night Fenno" .... NOt really sure how to describe their sound, maybe 80's rock meets todays punk??? My only reason for not giving full 5 stars is I want more tracks on the CD! ENJOY!
