Yhea! This is the hot stuff we've been waiting for..., September 21, 2000
This review is from: Don't Leave Me Here: New York Volume 3 (Audio CD)
"Don't You Leave Me" is a collection of rare & hot New York big bands. All of this music has never been re-issued since the rare original 78 rpm pressings in the 20's. Some of the hottest bands are the essential Savoy Bearcats, Charlie Johnson's Original Paradise Orchestra, Bubber Miley & His Mileage Makers, and Wooding's Grand Central Red Caps. Some highlights include "Bearcat Stomp" performed by The Savoy Bearcats, "Don't You Leave Me Here" performed by Charlie Johnson's Original Paradise Orchestra, "Charleston Is the Best Dance After All" performed by Charlie Johnson's Paradise Ten, "Loving You the Way I Do" performed by Bubber Miley And His Mileage Makers, and "That's My Desire" performed by Wooding's Grand Central Red Caps. Though all the songs and bands are enjoyable, The Bearcats and Charlie Johnson's Original Paradise Orchestra are the main reasons for picking up this essential CD. Highly recommedned.
