This review is from: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (Audio CD)
This cd is mixture of live and studio recordings and is not an attempt to recreate the original recordings. On several live tracks, "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place", "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" and "Tobacco Road", the band is allowed to stretch out. The live tracks are covers of Animals' recordings. The studio recordings are some of the best I've heard from Eric. On "House Of The Rising Sun", the only studio recording which is a cover of an Animals hit, he added a two minute intro, which he sings acapella. The date on the cd is 2004, but there is no other info, other than the track listing with songwriting credits. There is no credit for musicians or producer. Eric's vocals sound as good as ever, the band sounds great(especially the guitar), and the cd is well produced. I'm very happy with this purchase. If you're a fan of Eric Burdon, I recommend it.

I purchased this CD because I listened to the Animals alot in my early service days. I was not disappointed. This is classic Eric Burdon. I really enjoyed the fact that I could listen to samples of the music before I bought it.
