4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Country Outing From Former Duke, January 2, 2012

This review is from: Don't Look Back (Audio CD)
This 1988 release is mostly excellent, with several fine songs and lots of good pickin'. Wopat's voice may lack some of the twang that seems to be a requirement for airplay on country radio, but he does a good job nonetheless, enlisting nashville cats such as Vince Gill (on vocals). My two favorite tracks are "Don't Look Back" and "Hey Little Sister" (penned by Gary Scruggs, son of Earl and brother of Randy). The latter became a top 40 country hit. These days Wopat performs primarily on Broadway, where he has become a more than competent interpreter of The Great American Songbook, releasing several albums in that genre.
