From the Back Cover

One man lives to see her dead--the other is fighting to keep her alive.

Twelve years ago, forensic anthropologist Jamie Cash survived a brutal kidnapping. After years of therapy, she has made a life for herself--though one that is haunted by memories of her terrifying past. She finally lets herself believe that she can have a close relationship with a man, when signs start appearing that point to one frightening fact--her attacker is back and ready to finish the job he started all those years ago.

Can she escape his grasp a second time? And will she ever be able to let down her guard enough to find true love?

Filled with heart-stopping suspense, gritty realism, and a touch of romance, Don't Look Back pulls you into its twists and turns to hold you there until the very last page.

I just finished Lynette Easton's sequel to her To Close to Home and while To Close to Home was great, Don't Look Back was even better. It kept my interest from the start to the end, in fact even while having to work a lot I did finish her book in four days.

Lynette writes with passion, details and a story that brings out all the emotions as you read. What I like most is that she has such an inspirational story that weaves throughout the book about our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have had the pleasure of corresponding with Lynette via email and she is such a nice lady and has offered some excellent advise and nice to see a reachable person even in what has to be such a busy schedule.

I highly recommend her latest book but to get the real impact of Don't Look Back make sure to read the first book To Close to Home.

This book was fast-paced and I didn't want to put it down. It definitely kept my attention as far as the plot and action went. As far as the romance department it wasn't great, but romance isn't the primary category/direction for this series, so I wasn't expecting it to be really romantic.

However, there were some things that bothered me. Such as the fact that I was able to figure out who the "bad guy" was almost as soon as they introduced the person into the story. (But, in the very end there was a twist that surprised me, and I liked that.) I don't know if most people will be able to figure it out, or if it was just obvious to me.

There were also times when I was a little confused about small things. It seemed like some more information might have been introduced to make things clearer. But, these were small, scene related issues, not big things like the over all plot.

Sometimes, it was a little far-fetched when the characters would do something that seemed obviously stupid to me, and I'm not even a cop. SPOILERS>> Like when they said that the stalker was probably someone that Jamie worked with, but they never looked into that idea. Or when they thought that he was in the building and they left Jamie alone with only one agent to protect her! (If they thought that he was in the building, why would they go outside to look at his car rather than sending someone to check for them?) Little things like that made it less realistic to me. <<

I liked Jamie and how determined she was to move on from her past. She was a good heroine. I also liked the little twist about why her parents were acting strange. Wasn't expecting that and how it played into the plot in the end.

In all, I didn't dislike the book, but I didn't love it. I think it will go over pretty well with fans of the Christian suspense genre, though.

Don't Look Back was fantastic! I enjoyed it even more than book one, Too Close To Home, which I loved! The suspense was great and I found a lot of scenes very intense... I also got creeped out a little by things the killer did/said.

I loved getting to know Dakota and Jamie more. After having been introduced to them in Too Close To Home, I could hardly wait to read their story as Dakota was one of my favorite characters.

While I did guess who the killer was, I was still surprised by quite a few things in Don't Look Back and the ending was very thrilling! There were some really sad scenes, but also some very happy ones. I loved how Jamie and Dakota interacted with each other. ;)

All in all, a great read and I am really looking forward to reading A Killer Among Us as soon as I can. This book's epilogue definitely grabbed my attention and now I want to know what is going to happen next.

This is the story of Jamie, sister to Samantha from the first book.

Jamie was abducted and tortured by her abductor, 'The Hero' many years back but when he finds out she is alive after seeing her in the paper when she graduates from college he goes after her again. In the meantime several women who were taken by this psycho are discovered and Jamie is the person to help determine cause of death and identify the girls. Dakotah, the leading man in this story is in love with Jamie and has been since he first met her but Jamie, having been traumatized by a man is somewhat distant. This is all good, like it so far....

The problem I have is that I really dislike it when the killer is so obvious to the reader and the 'detectives' can't see what is under their nose. As reviewer Carman said, they overlook the obvious. I was hoping that I was wrong and that the killer would turn out to be someone else and the author was just trying to throw us off but this was not the case. Also, Sam and Jamie's parents begin ignoring calls from the daughters and they are trying to determine why. I think the reason didn't make any sense. Yes, they kept something from them but to avoid them altogether all of sudden because of this? I don't know, I thought that was silly. The constant dangerous situations Jamie is placed in also seem unreal. Two detectives who are constantly watching her and her cop sister can't catch the guy?

The ending was kind of rushed and the epilogue had nothing to do with the current story, it was a prelude to the next book in the series.
