3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit in with Wes Craven films, February 22, 2003
By
"iowamiranda" (Burlington, IA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Don't Look Down (DVD)
This film just doesn't blend in with other Wes Craven films. While it has a nice story line, minimal blut & guts, I do not think this is what true Wes Craven fans were thinking when they happened upon this. I saw the blood on the front cover & read the back and thought it would be a "normal" Wes Craven film, such as others with blood & gore, a decent plot, but all the horror I look for in a Wes Craven film. I was greatly let down & would like to let people know if you are looking for a horror filled flick, this is NOT the film for you. This has minimal gore, minimal violence and a high ability to bore you if you are seeking horror. However, if horror is not your thing and a good plot with some mild depressing losses (the loss of a sister) is what you are looking for, then here is your film!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont Watch It...., May 31, 2005

This review is from: Don't Look Down (DVD)
Megan Ward (PCU) and Billy Burke (Along Came A Spider) stars in this totally dry, empty horror...hey I shouldnt even say horror, because it's neither scary nor suspenseful, its just plain dull to the bone. While posing and taking pictures by a ledge, a girl falls over but Ward catches her and then the girl suddenly cant hold on any longer, so the girl slips falling to her cheesily constructed death scene. Soon after, Ward starts to suffer from fears of heights. Looks like one of those afterschool teen movies kinda with the sploppy camera work and acting as if rubbing two pieces of sand paper together by ones ears. Not much here really and the very disappointing thing is that Wesley Craven put his name on the title. Craven, tsk, tsk, oh well, I can forgive him...he however went on to present a much more better movie then this called Dracula 2000 a couple years later.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Look At This Movie, December 26, 2002
This review is from: Don't Look Down (DVD)
This movie is where Wes Craven's name was abused to the fullest. I saw the box, said to myself "Wow, a Wes Craven production I never knew about.." and promptly rented it. To my horror, I saw a movie that not only had the cinematographic quality of a Porno movie, but the acting was comparable as well. The plot and characters were pretty much a blatant rip off of an episode of any daytime soap opera. Why would anyone do something that lame????
The soap opera cliche' plot is this: A girl, her sister, and her husband are taking pictures at a beautiful overlook and her sister falls off the cliff, and begs her sister to save her .... blah blah..... dies.... blah blah...... surviving sister becomes afraid of heights..... blah blah...... series of murders she thinks the ghost of her sister is behind....... blah.... sorry excuse for a plot twist..... blah blah blah....bad ending. There is no point on earth to EVER EVER EVER EVER see this horrible piece of cinematic excriment. I am thoroughly saddened that Craven even let his name be soiled by this movie, and I almost cannot like him subconsciously because I can't think of his name anymore without thinking of that movie. I WISH there was a way to remove the memory of DON'T LOOK DOWN from my head, and I urge you to avoid this movie at all costs or it will cause you to have uncontrollable narcicistic rage for the rest of your life.
