Rob Thomas ROCKS!,

Wow. This one goes up with my Matchbox20 cd and Smooth single as my favorite cd. rob, even way back when, could write great songs. Even though his voice is mellower, he still sings with such feeling. This is a must have for Matchbox20 fans!

This is a good cd. It is a great addition to the collection of any MB20 fan, although it doesnt compare to MB20 and their newer cds. This cd by Rob Thomas' previous band, Tabitha's Secret, has some incredible songs, in which Rob sounds great!! His voice is very different, less raspy, which gives a different feel to 3AM making it sound pure and beautiful. There are some random songs that seem like filler (i.e. Jesus was an Alien) but there are also some great songs that can't be found on MB20's other cds. i.e. Forever December, Dear Joan, and the hidden track Dizzy. It also has my all time favorite song "here comes horses." Overall i give the cd 4 stars.

I spent a looong time looking for this CD, and finally found it at a used CD store two months ago. The first time I listened to it, I wasn't quite sure about it--it really does sound like a less mature matchbox twenty. After I listened to it a few more times, though, it started to grow on me. Now I've worn that poor CD to death. The sound is raw and powerful, it just feels more pure than the sometimes overdone electricness (I know that isn't a word) of matchbox twenty. Go, buy it, the lyrics are brilliant and the music is gorgeous. This CD deserves a place in anyone's music collection.

I absolutely love this cd, as you can tell by my rating. I have seen mb20 twice in concert, and the second time, he played a haunting song, Dear Joan. As I stood there in the audience of thousands i started crying, his words were sooo touching. In conversations with huge Matchbox 20 fans at their website, i found out that it was on Don't Play With Matches, from Paul, Brian, and Rob's original band--Tabitha's Secret. I got the cd soon afterwards, and absolutely loved the cd. Forever December, the later version is unbelievable, and that and Dear Joan are my favorites I definitely, without a doubt reccomend this cd to anyone.

Outstanding Early Work From Rob Thomas,

This album is awesome. I love it. The lyrics are refreshingly honest and stunningly placed together to make musical poetry. The stand outs on the album in my opinion are "Here Comes Horses", "Tired" and the hidden track "Dizzy" which is my personal favorite. Rob Thomas' voice is less agressive then the Matchbox Twenty albums, but the softness of the vocals and music is calming and wonderful. I'm a huge MB20 fan, and would recomend this album to anyone with intrest in the band. As a matter of fact, I'd recomend it to anyone who's attracted to good, quality music.

Rob Thomas' Best Album, Period.,

I have both Matchbox 20 albums, and this album is the best. If you love Matchbox 20 now, you will be blown away by this one. The writing is Rob's best. It's to bad that he could not use these songs in his other albums (except 3am). "Dear Joan" is my favorite from this album. It very much like "Bed of Lies" from "The Mad Season", or is that the other way. Anyway this album is a must for any Rob Thomas or Matchbox 20 fan...enjoy.

I went out and bought this CD since I am a huge Matchbox 20 fan and know three members of Mb20 were in this band. Since this was a first time effort for them I didn't expect it to be too good but was really surprised!!! Even in 1994 Rob Thomas had the talent for writing beautiful music and moving lyrics that makes him the great songwriter/musician he is today. This album is not quite as rock and roll as Matchbox 20 but still very great. What you will like about this album is the honesty of Rob Thomas' lyrics, they are what we all can identify with. Also you will get a taste of Matchbox 20's hit 3 AM as it was when it first came out but in a different musical version. Anyone who does not have this CD should seriously considering ordering it! It's one of the best lesser known bands of this decade. = )

My bud Emily searched everywhere for this cd for my birthday gift and I am soo glad she did! I absolutely love it! You can tell that it is somewhat different from matchbox twenty's sound (after all...its Tabitha's Secret :). Its a bit more mellow than YOSLY. The stand-out track is "Tired." Absolutely love that song. I would definetly recommend this cd to anyone who likes matchbox twenty...actually, to anyone who likes good music. MATCHBOX TWENTY LOVE BABY!

I love this cd. You will too if you think Matchbox 20's "Yourself or Someone Like You" is truly a classic. The lyrics and sound are as moving as anything the band done since. The fact that it is a live cd makes it even more personal. The sound quality on some of the tracks is not 100 percent perfect, but that's the beauty of live music. Bottom line: If you like Matchbox Twenty, and not just for their hits, buy this cd and Tabitha's Secret "Don't Play With Matches" as well.

Well, i got to meet Tabatha's Secret years ago at the Edge in Orlando Fl. He took time to talk to us and we thought his music was extremely catchy. i bought the tape the next day which had only 4 songs on it, front and back. Continued to follow them to local gigs and am not in the least surprised by Robs national success! This CD stays in my CD player at all times. AWESOMEDerek
