About the Author

In 1989, Danette Crawford founded Joy Ministries, an evangelistic outreach ministry based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, that offers more than a handout-it gives a hand up to those in need. Each year, several thousand people are reached through Joy Ministries' various outreach programs, which include eight summer reading camp classes in subsidized neighborhoods and weekly outreaches in ten adopted neighborhoods. Rev. Crawford's television ministry, Joy in the Morning with Danette Crawford, is broadcast over INSP, LeSea, TBN, and other networks; it reaches more than 75 million homes each week in the U.S. and abroad. Rev. Crawford has been featured on the 700 Club, Living the Life (a women's show), Paula White Today, and TBN local programming.Danette graduated magna cum laude from Lee University with a Bachelor of Art in psychology; she also minored in Bible. An academic scholarship enabled her to continue her studies at Regent University, where she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in counseling. She is a single mother who homeschools her daughter, Destiny, while running a major ministry.

This is an inspiring book where the author shares her life struggles and how God reached into her life and lifted her out of the pit she was in. It was well-written and easy to read. Best yet, it encourages the reader to turn to God in trials and trust what He will do in your life.

This book is absolutely amazing!!! I couldn't put it down from the second I opened it. There are so many things that I was never able to put my finger on, and this book hit the nail on the head. Issues I have dealt with all my life, like rejection, "perfectionism", striving to please everyone, lack on boundaries, and so many others. PLEASE... EVERYONE READING THIS REVIEW. BUY THIS BOOK. It even had study questions at the back of every chapter to help really absorb all that you just read. These were soooo helpful!! You need this book - if you have ever experienced any kind of "pit"! No matter if you're young, old, male or female - you need to read this book from cover to cover!
