I gotcha
I caught ya I locked ya forever in my Poetry Zone So goes the first poem in this fun collection of school poetry by Kalli Dakos. These poems are memorable, catchy and fun to say aloud. As a teacher, I have used poems from this collection and "If You're not here, Please Raise Your Hand." for reciitng, discussion, and introducing poetry writing. The topics (like raising your hand, anticipating recess, doing well on a test) are relevant, sometimes serious and sometimes silly, but always kid-like. My students like these books so much that they have worn my copies out. Time to buy replacements!

This is such a cute book that contains humorous poems and short narrative rhyming plays about school. The book is ideal for elementary school students. I use the high interest subjects to motivate my reading intervention students. They get a quick out of the funny outcomes. My favorite of course is Eric is Allergic to Girls.
