SUPERPITCHER somehow improves M83, is that possible?!, August 9, 2005
This review is from: Don't Save Us From the Flames (Audio CD)
The origina mix of DON'T SAVE US FROM THE FLAMES is, quite simply, on the most sublime tracks of this or any year. Incredibly layered, sonically dense, mind-expanding, eligiac, and haunting, it's the best track on M83's latest album. Now, somehow, SUPERPITCHER have done the impossble: adding a propulsive electro-house beat behind the experiment, they've raised the stakes and made DON'T SAVE US a killer dancefloor track that builds & builds for over TEN MINUTES, still retaining a sinister edge. The BIP-BOP remix ain't half bad either, sorta AKUFEN glitch house at best. Not to mention the amazing B-side. This single is value for the $$$ - what are you waiting for?!

M83 - Don't Save Us From The Flames, February 28, 2011
This review is from: Don't Save Us From the Flames (Audio CD)
DON'T SAVE US FROM THE FLAMES, the first single from M83's album BEFORE THE DAWN HEALS US, is the rock-electronic bombast that have helped M83 make a name for themselves. The name "Tina" becomes a cri de coeur, and the buzzing guitars only augment the angst. The b-side, "Until the Night is Over," is a quiet ballad, starting off with a piano line and adding layers of guitar fuzz and strings. Boom Bip, give the track a more abstract rhythm and closely follows the development or the original, adding their own bip-hop digital fingerprints halfway through. But, as always, Superpitcher comes through with the standout mix. Without robbing the original of its power, he repositions the track for the dancefloor.

First M83 I've Heard, Looking Forward To More, March 18, 2005
This review is from: Don't Save Us From the Flames (Audio CD)
I picked up this CD single recently despite having never heard of M83... very impressive sound, a good blend of uniqueness and catchiness. Even better than the original version of Don't Save Us From The Flames is the Superpitcher Remix (track 3) -- ten minutes of bliss.
