Music For Snuggling Up With Someone Special, February 23, 2002
This review is from: Don't Say It's Over (Audio CD)
Randy Crawford has about the warmest singing voice I've ever heard. It is perfectly matched with the jazz standard "I'm Glad There is You" that starts off the set. The other tracks (all co-written by Crawford) also showcase her fine voice very well. Most of the tracks are of the mellow and romantic variety. It's a perfect set for couples and for those who like a good love song. Some of best tracks are "In My Life," "Can We Bring It Back," and the title track. "Keep Me Loving You" musically is somewhat similiar to Bobby Caldwell's R&B standard "What You Won't Do For Love." It along with "Elusive Boogie" give the album a nice variety, adding a little "bounce" to the set. Overall, this CD is upbeat and hopeful. It also has a greater variety of instrumentation and arrangements than many so called "Adult Contemporary" and "Easy Listening" CDs. If you like your music with a mellow flavor, but with a little spice, this is the CD for you.

GREAT CD REMASTERED, August 15, 2008
Randy Crawford is a truly gifted jazz artist and has a very eclectic grooup of works to her name. When given the right material her voice works magic and soars with emotion. Some of her earlier works are amazing and a few are dated. This one is 5 stars plus. Each song is a standout performance. It is a true emotional experience to listen to it.
What is best about this release is the remastering. It is of the highest quality and crystal clear. It sounds as if it was recorded today. This cd is a must for any Randy crawford fan or fans of quality jazz.

FORGET THE SAXOPHONE, February 3, 2002
This review is from: Don't Say It's Over (Audio CD)
For those of you looking for adult contemporary jazz, this album is what you need. Over a beautiful instrumental background is not a sax, not a guitar, but a voice. Yes, Randy's voice is an instrument and that is not something you can say of everyone. The best tracks here are "Can we bring it back", a gorgeous love song that should be (but is not) played on evening love song shows; "In my life", featuring demanding lyrics and vocals that leave you with such a sense of freedom you'll be playing it over and over again. If you've ever liked Chaka Khan and wished she did more adult contemp., you will be satisfied with this album. The final track(title track) will have you wishing it wasn't over.... Like many other lost treasures, I found this cassette in a bargain/clearance bin....why? i'll never understand. Gourmet belongs in the gourmet section and this album is worth a lot. Get it into your heart!!!!
