Brilliant stuff from a great band at their peak. This was the big hit that was out when I saw them as a freshman in college in Ames, Iowa. "Don't Stop Believing" is masterful in how it features every band member's strengths. Steve Perry of course has THE VOICE which he uses well to the inspirational lyrics, Neil Schon displays how a loud, powerful guitar sound still fits perfectly in a mid-tempo song, Jonathan Cain plays a grooving piano that is the tone for the whole song, Ross Valory on bass complements the piano bass line perfectly and "drops anchor" holding everything together, and Steve Smith nails the beat without getting in the way of the song. Great times, great song!
