•If you need answers to the burning questions you are ashamed to ask ... because you think that everyone but you already knows the answers...
•And you’re searching for practical solutions that you can use right now to get unstuck and get on with your life...
I Don’t Need Therapy … But Where Do I Turn for Answers? is the book you need now.
You probably don’t even realize that many of the challenges you face are the ordinary problems of living that almost everyone encounters.

As a life coach, psychotherapist and educator, Dr. Laurie Weiss knows that therapy is not the only way people solve problems. Often just knowing the answers to these puzzling questions is enough.

When you need answers to questions like these:
•Why do I overreact?
•Will I always be depressed?
•How can I stop feeling scared?
•What is a healthy relationship?
•How can I tell if I really do need a therapist?
I Don’t Need Therapy … But Where Do I Turn for Answers? will help you understand just how normal you are! And help you figure out what to do, NOW!

This book will be especially helpful if you grew up in a difficult family situation— if you look normal and ordinary on the outside, but are secretly insecure and confused and are searching for answers to important questions.
It includes answers to a total of 22 Frequently Asked Questions which are often prefixed with “I don’t really need therapy, but …”
These answers will help you reclaim your life and your energy by showing you:
•How to use your feelings as important signals, even if your family told you that it was stupid or wrong to feel them — and certainly didn’t tell you what to do about them.
•Five practical ways to permanently eliminate old angry feeling, and drop your rules about anger that keep you stuck
•Four magic questions to answer that tell you what to do when you are paralyzed by fear.
•How to know what is really important to you, even though you‘ve stopped paying attention to your own needs.
*A simple technique to quiet and relax yourself — in 5 minutes.
•How to unhook from the things that cause you to over-react.
•Seven questions to answer to help you decide between what you know you should do, and what you want to do.
•How to tell the difference between signs of trouble and normal changes in a healthy relationship — even though you don’t even know what a healthy relationship looks like.
•Seven surprisingly simple questions to answer so you can procrastinate and still get done on time.
And much, much more.

Weiss is an engaging author, management consultant, and Denver psychotherapist who writes for the recovery community -- and speaks to the heart of the change process for us all. She introduces change seeking people from all walks of life to healing self-esteem ideas.

I Don't Need Therapy But ... is a bold, easy to read book that strikes deep into emotional pay dirt. Weiss's honesty and directness are refreshing; making emotional sense is her specialty. She possesses an uncanny ability to comfort the emotionally afflicted with her sage, protective, and caring advice. In addition she uses exploratory questions to help readers take their thinking even further.

This book is the perfect primer for someone entering therapy, Oakland reception area browsing book, or a wonderful gift for someone you love. It will also help orient individuals who are afraid of the intensity of psychotherapy.

This self-help book begins with a forthright and accurate discussion of healthy anger, but anger is just one of the touchy emotions that this book investigates. The author gently helps the reader sort out all types of emotional confusions. In simple language, Dr. Weiss invites the reader to master feelings, attitudes, beliefs, and experiences of many kinds that can impact the quality of a person's life and relationships, including anger, grief, fear, depression, jealousy, inadequacy, over-responsibility, sexual abuse, independence, fairness, and change pressures, just to name a few.

Other works by Dr. Weiss include An Action Plan For Your Inner Child: Parenting Each Other and Recovery From CoDependency: It's Never Too Late to Reclaim Your Childhood, the latter written with Jonathan Weiss.

Any person who feels afraid of his or her emotions will find plenty to love about I Don't Need Therapy But ... It will hit home for new clients who are beginning the change process as well as for seasoned clients who want to keep going forward doing the difficult middle stages of growth.

Dr. Weiss has succeeded admirably in her goals: to "give practical guidelines for getting unstuck and moving on with your life." The purpose of this brief work was achieved -- to offer powerful answers to difficult emotional questions.
