This book should be a home essential for everyone. I'm giving one to my sister who is a new mom. I'm sure she will benefit from all the tips just as I have. From advice like "don't cook in bare feet" to "careful with Q-tips" the book has just the right amount of simple guidelines to avoid emergency room visits. I assure you that you'll be surprised and enlightened with Dr. Pregerson's pearls of wit and wisdom.

The amusement of tales of other people's poor judgement without any of the personal pain...if you follow this book's advice. Entertaining stories from the front lines of the E.R. What better gift to loved ones than engaging advice on how to avoid a trip to the E.R.?

I wish I had read this book years ago, as it would have saved me great pain and expense. I wound up in the hospital last year running up my son's brick stairs barefoot, just before this book came into print. If this book had only half of the advise, it would still be worth ten times as much.
Buy this book for anyone you care about.

No matter how many people I show this book to, they can not put it down. Very entertaining, learning about the everyday stupid things that we all do that put us in the emergency room. In all seriousness though, Dr. Pregerson and his book did get my 5 year old daughter into the E.R. in time for her appendicitis. I figured she was just over reacting to the Flu, which I knew was going around. Luckily, I was forced to realize I had an emergency on my hand.

Do read this at home, or anywhere!,
This review is from: Don't Try This at Home: Lessons from the Emergency Department (Paperback)
Just the advice you need from a doctor who has seen it all. Dr. Pregerson uses simple language and photos to clearly explain why some very common activities can be surprisingly dangerous. This handbook is quick to read, but the lessons sink in. You will be glad you read it!
