this is some of jim's best work, it would have gotten five stars but it sounds like they recorded it a little hot. I love it none the less. Can't wait for the l.p.

Most new music makes you want to drink your own vomit. This CD, admirably, does not. I had absolutely no desire to drink my own vomit after listening to this CD.

This CD takes rock back to... well, when it used to be rock, for Christ's sake. Good riffs, good melodies, and no over-producing to drown out any musical virtue that might exist. Influences include 70s pre-punk like Iggy, but please don't assume that they stay at that level. Jim Reid's voice, as usual, is awesome. It's almost like he has two separate voices. One, for the more upbeat rock 'n roll parts of the songs, and another breathy, dare I say "angelic" voice for the more mellow parts. (My musical vocabulary is pitiful, so forgive me.)

It's nice to see that Ben's song (Shine On Little Star) is damn good, and I think I'll go out on a limb and say the song written by the entire band (Nobody's Gonna Trip My Wire) is the best on the CD. The song takes the best of the 80s, combines it with the best of the 70s, smartly leaves out any influence from the 90s, and blows all three decades out of the water. (Small exaggeration, but a damn good song.)

I look forward to seeing these guys again in NYC. And next time, I might even dress for the occasion. (And leave the tux at home.) I plug these guys on my website, which I might as well plug here: savethehumans.com.
