Ben Folds Unfolds, November 29, 2008
This review is from: You Don't Know Me (featuring Regina Spektor) [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
It's been quite a few years since indie-mastermind, Ben Folds recounted the classically titled, "The Battle of Who Could Care Less." But fellow Carolinian Folds can't stay out of the spotlight for long, and he makes his long-awaited return with "You Don't Know Me." The song is apparently about a married couple who after years of marriage, realize that they don't really know each other on a personal basis, or to an almost ridiculous sense. Either way, it's pure Ben Folds, and a catchy quasi-pop beat to go along with it. Of course, what would be a Ben Folds song without cussing, so he tosses in a F-word towards the end.
Overall, if you're looking for original pop songs, or you just love Ben Folds, then you might just like this pleasant track.

Fantastic Track, November 4, 2009
This review is from: You Don't Know Me (featuring Regina Spektor) [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
Ben Folds just knows how to write a catchy melody, and "You Don't Know Me" is one of his best. It's certainly one of his more modern sounding tracks, with the beat in the background bordering on a quasi hip-hop feel, and playful string samples popping up throughout the song. I'm not a huge fan of Regina Spektor's solo songwriting, but her voice is perfectly suited for this song and she sounds great in it. ~One of Ben Folds' most accessible tunes--highly recommended.
