5.0 out of 5 stars Super ice cream bars!
Simple product that works great! Uses 3 cups of yogurt, juice or softened ice cream to make 8 perfect popsicles or ice cream bars. Sturdy and well made - dishwasher safe. I love that it uses wooden sticks - like real popsicles - instead of the plastic handles that came with other ice molds I've tried. This one freezes fast and the bars are sort of "bomb-shaped" and...

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit tough to get out.....
Overall this is a decent product, but we had a bit of trouble getting the pops out of the molds (the directions say to squeeze from the bottom, but that doesn't work)! The problem was temporarily solved by running hot water over the ones we wanted to take out, but it's a bit disappointing to have to do that. I don't remember having this kind of problem with the old...

5.0 out of 5 stars Super ice cream bars!, January 25, 2003

Simple product that works great! Uses 3 cups of yogurt, juice or softened ice cream to make 8 perfect popsicles or ice cream bars. Sturdy and well made - dishwasher safe. I love that it uses wooden sticks - like real popsicles - instead of the plastic handles that came with other ice molds I've tried. This one freezes fast and the bars are sort of "bomb-shaped" and easy to eat. It comes with only a few sticks to get you started, but they are easy to find at any craft store ... and are cheap. I use my ice cream maker to prepare my favorite home made ice cream (chocolate mint) to a slushy state and pour it into the molds - also works with store bought ice creams that are partially thawed. The (small) pamphlet that comes with the product has a great recipe for frozen latte bars - coffee!! I haven't tried it yet, but sounds wonderful.

The small parts that are mentioned in other reviews are only the eight, individual caps for each mold. (A total of only 9 parts to the whole set, plus disposable popsicle sticks). These caps hold the sticks in the proper place for freezing. They are removed once the popsicles are frozen, so I just take them all off at one time and store them together. The molds themselves are all held together in a metal frame, so I think this set is much easier to keep up with than the T*pperware versions of years ago.

Well worth the price. Only wish it made about twice as many bars...guess I need to order another set!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but why only 24 sticks?, June 3, 2002

It is hard to go wrong with something as simple as this, but we ran out of popsicle sticks after about one week. Now I have to go thru the hassle of finding the right sticks that will fit (or else washing the existing sticks). There is no re-order info in the box.

I like these molds better than the Norpro. The smaller size is better so you can eat it before it melts. The plastic guides hold the sticks firmly in place. The only negative is you have to hold the mold under warm water for about 10 seconds to remove the frozen pop or it won't come out.

This is so much easier to use than my old tupperware. The kids love the shape. I mix plain whole milk yogurt frozen fruit and raw honey and it tastes great.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice but too many parts to keep track of, December 8, 2002
By A Customer

Solid design, but you have to keep track of hard to replace parts. I don't mind rewashing the wooden sticks and we find it easy enough to replenish those we loose, but the plastic four leaf clovers are hard to come by and seem to find their way into all corners of our kitchen. All this said, our son loves eating the "rockets" and the mold is very sturdy.

This is an excellent product. To get the pops out nicely, just run warm water over the bottom part for a few secounds till they pull out easily.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrifyingly Bad!, April 7, 2004

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Donvier Frozen Pop Molds (Kitchen)
This is without a doubt one of the worst products I've purchased in years. It's so bad, that in my opinion the manufacturer is perpetrating a kind of fraud by continuing to market it. The chief problem with this piece of trash is that it is virtually impossible to get the frozen pops out of their molds. With great persistence and a little ingenuity, it can be done, but expect to be so frustrated that you'd just as soon throw the whole darn thing on the floor. It's inconceivable that Donvier doesn't know that this product is sheer, unadulterated rubbish. But they continue to sell it. If that doesn't tell you something about Donvier, then you should give your wallet to a responsible adult, because you're no longer qualified to shop for yourself. This product is garbage!
