[Update 12.26.2013]
Developer responded to my review and removed Flurry analytics from the game as well as updated the version to be the same as the one on Google Play. I've verified that this is indeed the case. Kudos dev for the prompt response!

Title: Uniquely fun puzzle game - but has Flurry Analytics add-on. Also newer version available for free in Google Play Store

Pandoodle is a fun puzzle game that takes an unique twist on the gameplay found in Cut the Rope. You're given a limited amount of paint with each stage. The objective is to direct the paint to the appropriate colored target. Along the way, you have to figure out the most efficient paths so you don't run out of paint, and also how to mix the basic colors you're given to produce other colors.

PRO:
After playing through the first book, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how fun and addictive this game turned out to be. The cute graphics and soothing background music ease you into the game with the help of the nicely done tutorial. But the difficulty level picks up nicely, and the game quickly becomes deceptively challenging. The replay value is further enhanced with the 3-star system found in other games like Angry Bird. You will definitely want to go back and figure out the best way to beat each stage to get all three stars.

CON:
The game includes Flurry Analytics, which is an add-on that allows developers to track how you use the game. It's not evil per se if it's used responsibly, since it can help the developers improve their product. The problem is, you have to place your trust in the developer. Personally I'd prefer to not have any kind of tracking in my apps or games if given a choice.

Full versions are FREE right now on PLAY and iTunes and have three levels of IAP (unlock all books = $.99, Kids drawing mode = $1.99 and 10 Hints = $1.99). PLAY store is now promoting version 3.02 and iTunes is promoting version 2.01. I had to install both versions from those markets to find this out as the "Pandoodle Free" version links are down and have been replaced by the "Full" versions?

The version here today has Flurry Analytics, begs for Facebook Likes, still has the lock up issues, doesn't have a Quit game option and will run in your cache unless you force close it.

As for the game play, it is a decent game where the task is to connect colored spots. Crossing colored lines mix their colors and allow you to get from yellow crossing blue to green for example. Fewer number of lines is the real objective to win the task.

With the permissions, IAP, Flurry analytics and a propensity for the developer to add undesirable permissions and features as the version levels increase, drops this to a game worthy of 3 stars but no more.

I was surprised to actually enjoy this game. It's challenging to find the best way to get the paint to the target because there is only limited paint and the paths are difficult yet fun to navigate. There are 75 levels so it's not a game that's going to run out fast.. The music is good, not obnoxious and the game works with no glitches.

My problem with this game, hence 3 stars is simple- I really dislike flurry analytics. I think it's unwise to allow a developer into your device to track your habits. I'm trying to get over it and understand in some cases it's simply the other side of owning apps, but there are so many games offered where this doesn't happen.

Get the game, it's fun- decide for yourself if you can live with the developer watching over your shoulder, I can't and deleted after an hour of play.

This is a clever variation on a find-the-path puzzle. You have to find the correct and best path to maximize the stars you earn at each level.

In each level, you are given a panda paw print filled with a specified amount of paint. You drag your finger from the paw print to the shapes you want to color. You want to be as efficient as possible as you only have the specified amount of paint. Also, as you progress in the game, you have to mix the colors to get the color required by the shape. You do this by crossing paths with a previously painted color. So, blue+yellow=green, red+blue=purple, three colors make black. For some reason little green bamboo leaves float across the screen. You can undo individual moes by tapping the back arrow or restart the whole level by tapping the circular arrow.

There is a good tutorial. As you progress, some of the levels are difficult to get the three stars! (12 and 16, anyone??) Playable without WiFi. Plays in portrait mode, but will flip 180%. You can turn off sound and effects. I played with a Fire HDX.

Graphics are quite simple, perhaps almost too simple, but are well executed.

I downloaded this FAOTD this morning and am now at the second coloring book, level 5, which means that I have been playing this game since I downloaded it! There are three books of 25 levels.

It reminds me of "Sugar Sugar", which is a very clever game where you have to control the flow of white sugar through colored filters in order to produce the correct colored sugars. It is an animated game and gets very complex -- and frustratingly difficult -- very quickly. This is what I like about Pandoodle. While it's a much simpler game, it is still challenging to find the shortest path for each color in order to produce the correct results. It is difficult enough to be interesting but not so hard as to become totally frustrating. I usually replay a level until I achieve three stars but there are still a couple of levels where I haven't yet found the perfect solution.

In the second book you're introduced to mirrors. (There's an English problem in the instructions that refers to "reflexing" instead of "reflecting" but otherwise the instructions are decent.) I find the mirror challenges quite difficult.

Graphics are okay but very basic. The game works well enough on the Kindle Fire HD but I do occasionally have problems drawing a line if I'm not applying exactly the right pressure (seems to stop or get "stuck") although I'm not sure whether it's because of the stylus I'm using. Another reason I'm rating it 4 stars and not 5 is that there are not enough levels for a paid app (and others have noted there are more levels in the free version in Google Play - although I have not checked that out myself).

One other change I would suggest: As soon as you've solved a puzzle, the score comes up and covers the completed puzzle. I wish there was a way to close the score window so you can see what you just did. It's hard to improve your score if you can't remember your previous moves and don't have a chance to examine where you might have gone wrong.
