Awesome DVD!!! Here are some things on it.

- An independent critical review of the Dookie album.
- Interviews with the band
- Rare archive performances, including rare clips from Woodstock Music Festival.
- Information on the early years including songs and info on Kerplunk and their first singles including 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hour songs.
- Songs by "Green Idiot."
- Green Day Blowout at Woodstock.
- Highlights from "Welcome To Paradise" "The Judge's Daughter" "One Of My Lies" "Chump" "2,000 Light Years Away" "Burnout" "Paper Lanterns" "F.O.D." "When I Come Around" and more!!!
- What their FIRST name was, and why they named themselves "Green Day" afterwards.

SWEET!!!

I feel totally ripped off by Amazon for listing this to make it look like it's part of the Classic Albums series. THAT series features interviews with actual band members, producers and fellow musicians. THIS DVD is part of a series featuring a disclaimer indicating, "This film is unauthorised and is not associated or approved in any way by present and past members of Green Day...".

This has some very unprofessional production moments. Thru much of the narration they actually have Nirvana footage playing, but it's chopped up and blurry. The little footage of Green Day is often repeated during these narrations. Maybe the cheap production makes it more 'punk'.

I was hoping this was the same video I saw on VH1, but it was not. The correct video is VH1's Ultimate Albums. What makes this DVD pathetic is that the video is fully unauthorized.

True, it's a documentary but with theirs only one reputable source... the head guy of Lookout Records. The other 3 or 4 people interviewed were either music journalists or just musicians.

Now to make this DVD even more trash, they used video from VH1's Ultimate Albums... which is the only part of the video that interviews Mike Durnt (bassist), Tre Cool (Drummer) or Rob Cavallo (Producer of Dookie).

Even the music played is not from the Dookie album, except for a 5 second clip of "Welcome to Paradise" which they did a quick comparison between the Kerplunk version and the Dookie version. Most of the Green Day footage is them playing at Woodstock 94 and the audio clips are from a live radio show back in 94. There are a couple more slaps to the face by hearing Dookie songs played by "Green Idiot," a cover band.

Overall there isn't much information that's interesting about Dookie. I do have to say the video is not a total waste, the Lookout guy had some interesting things to say about the start of their career (around 16 yrs of age).

I love it! Got all the albums, and Dookie is No1, so cool to hear more abuot the background to the music, and all that behind the scences stuff.
Worth it for any gd fan
