I am a contractor and I began using this book when I started getting into this feild 8 years ago and I still use it for reference today.It has saved me time and money so many times it has been well worth the money I paid for this excellent book.

I've worked in the maintenace field for many years and have often referred to this book for help in repairing heating and air conditioning systems. It's written in easy to understand language, what I would call the layman's "Bible" for Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Great book, Keep one in my service truck. Pricey but will save time.

I do not have much of experiences of HVAC system but it has so much of contents for old systems maybe no one using today. But it's good to know fundamental things how HVAC supposed to work. I wish to enhance the illustrations.

This book came highly recommended from my mentor of 25 yrs experience in the field. It is written in easy to understand language. I use it along side my other text and has help me gain a better understanding of the HVAC-R trade. Its well worth the money but just make sure you shop around to get the best price. If your serious about learning the trade, GET THIS BOOK!

Great condition but it was hard to tell what exactly i was getting. The book looks different than in the picture and I really wasn't aware that i was getting a 1960something edition of the book.

HARD TO UNDERSTAND SCRIP. POOR EXAMPLES. THE WORD "POT" FOR EXAMPLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ELECTRICAL OR REFRIGERATION IN THE PAST OR PRESENT.

When originally published, this book filled a void and taught many technicians about refrigeration. Today it is troubleshooting history. The principles are still the same, and the author has a down to earth way of explaining the refrigeration cycle. But I fear for anyone using some of the methods encouraged in the book. For example, using jumpers on live circuits to start a compressor using the start winding. That could be disastrous with just a small slip.
