Product Description

id Software's follow-up to their genre-defining Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM is another first person shooter: full-on action seen from the space marine's perspective. Like Wolfenstein, the game consists of distinct episodes, playable in any order. The first episode, Knee-Deep in the Dead, takes place in the Phobos base and is freely available as shareware. The full game continues on Deimos in The Shores of Hell and culminates in Inferno, the final episode which takes place in Hell itself (the Sega 32x version lacks this episode).

4.0 out of 5 stars better than expected, March 28, 2011

Back in 1994, if you didn't have a computer, this was one of the best options for playing Doom. Although the viewing window is somewhat small, the game plays very fast as a result. The sound is superb, and this version smokes the SNES version (although that version is also impressive for what it is). The only problem is that there is no battery save or password save, so you have to keep the system on if you want to keep going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty goood port, November 16, 2009

i have no idea why people give this game bad reviews, its great!i admit, the game's music isn't as good as its super nintendo counter part, but the graphics kick the SNES's ass(they're great)!and the game is as fun as it ever was with the great game play from the original.i would give this a try if you even have a 32x(like anyone actually does).

Doom has been on nearly ever system in the mid 90s. From SNES to N64, and this was a launch title for 32X. Something to get the consumers interested. Well this was the fastest(in terms of speed) version of the original DOOM. Though the Gensis buttons don't work well with it, it is still a great game to come with the system. It didn't that well, but still a history leason for those not around for the first 3D games/first person shooter.
