Pretty Friggin Good Score,

I personal LOVED this soundtrack. The hard beats, hard guitar, and hard techno all combined to make one hell of a good soundtrack. The songs that really show all those first three elements are:
2. Doom 3:14 11. Destroyed 2:29 14. Containment Breach 1:52 18. Mass Onslaught 2:20 19. First Person Shooter 4:47 ( one of my favorite tracks ) 21. Go To Hell 4:12 ( another one of my favorites ) All the other songs are the slower, slight, scary music that is seen in the calmer, talking, mystery solving, lab scenes in the movie. They can be nice to listen to also ;) The last track by Nine Inch Nails goes with the track nicely, with the hard beats, drums, and guitar...remized with DooM's technoish feeling. All together it makes a nice track i would recommend. I would also recommend the movie, if your the kinda person that likes mindless fun-filled movies hahahahaha. - /)/atha/)/ Evans

Wonderful Score,

In an age where movie soundtracks are becoming nothing more than a showcase for whichever bands could afford to have their name slapped all over a movie, or have half of one of their songs played during some inspirational montage in the movie, it's refreshing to hear a Motion Picture Score that's exactly that; a score. It's not a collection of songs by the most popular pop/alternative bands at the time the movie came out. It's an honest-to-god score with just about every single note of music that occurred during the movie.
Clint Mansell does a wonderful job creating dark, dreary moods and intense periods with his music. The soundtrack by itself can sometimes be quiet and brooding, but often comes back en force. I found it works very well as background music for table-top role-playing games, actually, and also a wonderful disc to study too when lyrics are too distracting. To be honest I'm still on the fence about the Nine Inch Nails song. It's my personal opinion that Trent's work has declined GREATLY over the years, but that's just my opinion. Overall, a pretty darned good score.

The soundtrack MADE the movie,
By Sam Vafadar (Florida) - See all my reviews

Alright, folks, I really didn't think the movie was all that bad. All you DOOM nerds need to get a life, because you should know by now that Hollywood NEVER gets a video-game adaptation right. (I've been a loyal DOOM fan since '93, so I know what I'm talking about. To prove it, it takes 5-6 missiles to bring down a Baron of Hell.)
Anyways, onto the soundtrack. YES! This soundtrack is quite simply the best movie soundtrack I have listened to in 2005. Clint Mansell really captured the TRUE essence of DOOM in this soundtrack, and I believe that the soundtrack really makes the movie more enjoyable to watch. Buy this soundtrack; you really won't regret it.

Suprisingly Good,

When I bought this soundtrack, I got it with the movie just to have them both. I saw that Nine Inch Nails was on it, so I assumed it had songs. I'm not really a fan of songs, especially things like Doom which has more mood setting music.
When I put in the CD I was pleasantly surprised with the music. No words to distract from the mood setting music. If you're a fan the old school game, this music would make a great soundtrack to play with.

Not a great Nine Inch Nails remix, but still a worthy CD...,
This review is from: Doom (Score) (Audio CD)
For anyone like myself who bought this CD with hopes of a killer Nine Inch Nails remix, don't expect too much in that respect - the track is barely 3:00 long & is quite close to the original. However, any fan of NIN should dig the dark synths and heavy drums throughout the actual score. Though disappointed about the NIN remix, I'm still happy to have bought the CD.

A composer I am not really familiar with is Clint Mansell but his Doom score is a very different one and matches the film quite well. A mixture or rock 'n roll/heavy metal guitars and drums and electronics are present through out the entire score. The new age parts such as in the theme are cool. Speaking of the theme, its a very fun theme. There are also a couple other themes heard through out the score. I also love the choir. The bonus Nine Inch Nails song is at the end of the album and it has some of Mansell's music playing. If you are offended by vulgar language I would skip the track but hardcore fans of the group should dig it. The album clocks in a few seconds over an hour. To Me, Mansell's Doom score is a surprise and I recommend it!

Get It While Its Hot,

One of the most solid soundtracks released in 2005, it keeps the pace with the action sequences in a way that make you wish to have a joystick and run the action by yourself, instead of just being an observer. My favorite part is when Karl Urban's character takes the lead in a fist person shooter sequence. The music blends in just perfectly in the action!. An excellent CD for those of us that still keep playing with this game franchise since 1993.
