4.0 out of 5 stars It's Fantasy!
It's fantasy. Doesn't need to make sense or be scientifically accurate or even close. I don't think it was ever intended to be anything but just plain, lighthearted fun with some backroom commentary on notable conditions of the time through the eyes of someone who was raised during the late 50s and was a teen through the 60s - crazy times at the very least. 1.0 out of 5 stars Awful!
The characters don't make sense. The science is ridiculous. The plot is thin.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's Fantasy!, July 19, 2011

It's fantasy. Doesn't need to make sense or be scientifically accurate or even close. I don't think it was ever intended to be anything but just plain, lighthearted fun with some backroom commentary on notable conditions of the time through the eyes of someone who was raised during the late 50s and was a teen through the 60s - crazy times at the very least. I also do not believe that the author was reaching for a bar like Clark, Heinlein, Campbell or Asimov to name but a very few. There are many authors, but few can hope to hold a candle to the old masters, especially at that time. I could not begin to make a list of those greats of the time and use these only as bright examples of an excellence not achieved by many, yet many other authors survived the period who were, though less notable in science fiction, none the less contributors to the arts in their commentary of the times they reflected. The author should be received based on his ability to be a reflector of the times of his life and stay alive with his craft in a very competitive game. Check him out.
