Product Description

*** DoorShox Valet Edition - Covers both doors of a 2-door Vehicle ***

*** Please Note: This item includes 2 pieces of DoorShox Valet Edition, which is enough to cover 2 doors ONLY ***

DoorShox is made of super lightweight energy absorbing foam and incorporates a bridge design with dual impact arches to (a) reduce the weight of the product (b) minimize the contact areas and (c) absorb impact energy. DoorShox attaches magnetically to your vehicle's doors with "no-touch magnets" making attachment and removal extremely fast and easy. Use it when you need it and stow it when you don't!

(1) No Touch Magnets: Within this structure are three powerful rare earth magnets, encapsulated at 3 locations along the product. The contact areas are over molded with a super soft silicone like material, with a raised micro ribbed texture. The ribs act like little feet, minimizing the contact area between the paint and the product.

(2) Shock Absorbing Foam: We selected high-grade quality foam for its lightweight and excellent impact absorption qualities.

(3) Impact Arches: We integrated a bridge system with impact arches along the door guard length. These arches act like shock absorbers providing varying flexibility at the various impact zones. The arches further reduce the weight of the door guard and provide rigidity to the body structure.

(4) Anti-theft Cable with Suction Cup: A vinyl coated aircraft cable with a suction cup attaches to the inside glass of the vehicle. This wire cannot be pulled out once the door is shut.

Most products, which attempt to serve the same purpose as the DoorShox, are permanent attachments to your nicely painted vehicle. DoorShox provides door ding protection as well as prevents unseemly car paint damage. Rest assured, there is no place you can't park.

*** DOOR SHOX - WILL NOT WORK ON VEHICLES WITH ALUMINUM DOORS ***

I ordered the valet edition to protect my car from being both dinged by my neighbor (on opening their doors) and scraped as well (they park by Braille). I am very pleased with the quality of the item--feels light but solid, with pretty strong magnets.
I have three critical comments:
1) the security wire could be cut by a thief with a good pair of clippers; the wire will only protect against unprepared opportunist thiefs. Since I have an outdoor urban parking space, there is a substantial risk--but it's one I'm willing to take.
2) I applied a thin plastic door-rim protector to my car doors (so I don't ding my neighbor's car). It is difficult, but not impossible to close the door over the security wire with that door-rim-protector in the way. Luckily, I have a 5-inch space near the door-handle with no rim-protector, and that's where I try to stick the wire usually. If your door-rim-protector is continuous and thicker, you may be forced to cut away a small portion of it so you can close the wire in the door. When I close the door with the wire hitting the door-rim-protector, it slightly damages the plastic coating on the wire; this is something to keep an eye on, as an uncoated wire could cause slight scratches to the car here and there.
3) The suction cups on the security wire seem pointless. I could not get them to stick at all; it would be impractical to try each time I reattach the door shox. Further, they are unnecessary and make the door shox security wire look somehow cheaper and more vulnerable (more tempting). I don't use them. I would prefer large hooks on the end of the wire instead so I could hook it to my inside-door-handle; that would make installation easier, and the precise form of security would be somehwhat hidden.

Despite these issues, I think it's a good product. I am willing to buy another set if these get stolen. Now I can ask my neighbors to fix our car without worrying they'll just redamage it again.

I recently purchased an older car in pristine condition. It is dark blue, a color I swore I would never purchase because it tends to show dirt and every scratch. Despite these concerns, the condition of the car was too good to for me to pass up, so I bought it.

When out driving, I can protect my car from scratches and dings by parking in remote areas of a parking lot. At home, however, it is a different story. If I want to park the car in the garage, I need to park next to my wife's minivan, and no matter how conscientious she is, her minivan door will eventually come into contact with my car. That's why Door Shox is the perfect solution for me.

I purchased Door Shox specifically for use in my garage. I've had it about two weeks, and I think it is going to work perfectly. Anytime my wife will get home later than I do or plans to leave before me, I put one of the Door Shox door guards on the passenger side door of my car. (Usually, I take a bottle of auto-detailing spray and wipe down the area where the Door Shox will come into contact with the car to prevent dirt from getting under the magnets and scratching the car.) I just leave security cable dangling since I don't have to worry about the Door Shox being stolen from my garage.

I've gently tested it, and it looks like it will work well. The coating on the magnets is soft enough that I don't think they will hurt the car, especially if the car is kept waxed. When I'm ready to leave, I simply remove the Door Shox from the car and use the magnets to store it on the side of the old refrigerator in our garage.

I purchased the valet edition because I don't need the full side protection offered by the standard edition.

My car leaches (Doorshox) paid for themselves this weekend. I went up to Canandaigua, NY for my niece's graduation party.

The hotel I stayed at had the worst parking lot. Potholes the size of 500lb bomb craters, one sad little street light in the middle of a huge parking lot, and really narrow spots. Of course because it was graduation weekend the hotel was full.

I was faced with the choice of parking far out in the deserted darkened portion of the lot or risk door dings. So I pulled into this spot near my room. I went to my trunk and pulled out my 2 Doorshox Valets. I had washed my car when I reached Canandiagua, so I didn't have to worry about dirt scratching my car. I lined up the Doorshox where the front doors would open into my car on both sides and went up to my room for the night.

The next room my Doorshox earned their keep. I wanted to get going early to get my S2000 out of that awful spot, but, the one neighboring cars got out first. I watched with horror from the hotel window as she opened her rear door to put luggage in luckily she appeared to be careful. Then she went to get into her car, again she was trying to be careful, but, she was a larger girl. As she entered her car the door swung out right towards the side of my S2000, and bounced off my Doorshox. Door ding averted!!!

The when it was time to leave, I carefully pulled the Doorshox off my dent free car, put them together and placed them back in the trunk. They're big and ugly, but, only need to be put on when you need them. As far as I'm concerned Doorshox FTW!

Check the manufactures website for more information and to make sure you don't pay more than full price.
