5.0 out of 5 stars Extreme hobbiest drag racer, May 31, 2001

This review is from: Door Slammers: The Chassis Book (Paperback)
I have read this book probably 10 times. Each time I read it I learn something new. When I get upside down in my 4-link suspension, I pull out this book and go back to basics. It is written so that any high school graduate can understand it but alot of the material and concepts are college level. If you want to understand how your race suspension really works, I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a must have for all drag racers, June 23, 2003

This review is from: Door Slammers: The Chassis Book (Paperback)
I have read this book over and over and learn something new each time. I have assisted in the construction of full tube chassis prior to this book and learned a good deal about what is written in this book. After reading the book, I have a true understanding of why we built things the way we did.
There is a ton of information that most drag racers do not know in this book. After reading Door Slammers, you will find out how ignorant most people are when it comes to chassis setup and how to make a car hook. You'll see that what you used to do in order to hook, is probably wrong. You will also find out what you should have done.

Great Book!!!

I've wanted this book for quite a while and when I got it, I wasn't a bit disappointed. If you're into the nuts and bolts of drag racing, you need this book. Even though the technology has moved forward since this book was first published, the book isn't dated. Dave has a way of explaining the set-up without being too technical. A definite thumbs up for this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for amateurs or pros, May 15, 2007

This review is from: Door Slammers: The Chassis Book (Paperback)
This is a really good book, very informative. It is very thorough about all aspects of setting up a drag chassis. It is not an instruction manual on specific construction. It is rather a book teaching you how and why certain techniques work and how they may apply to your car. It is well worth the money. The book itself is printed with thick, high-quality, glossy paper -- it should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why is this book so much?, December 22, 2011
This review is from: Door Slammers: The Chassis Book (Paperback)
Why Does this book costso much money when the list price on the cover is $30? I'm not sure why there is even one costing $999? that's a lot money. is there not a more updated cheaper book?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Introduction to Chassis Setup, May 6, 2011

This review is from: Door Slammers: The Chassis Book (Paperback)
I'm just getting my feet wet, learning how to setup my G body chassis for drag racing. The engine performance has reached a level where I need all I can get out of my chassis to get all the power to the ground. I had always noticed Dave's book highly recommended whenever chassis setup was discussed. I decided to purchase a copy. A bit on the expensive side, but I'm very pleased that I did. It is written at a level that makes topics very easy to understand, and the content appears to be very thorough. From the perspective of a newbie such as myself, anyway.
I had tried to learn the aspects of chassis setup by searching the internet and reading comments on bulletin boards, but this book has turned out to be a much better decision.
