OK, you see this review and think 'That's biased, he's listed as the illustrator!'
Before making the cover, I received an evaluation copy from the author.
Yep, that's true, I decided to make a cover for this short story. I'm also an author horror stories, so that should underrate all my reviews. No way!
I'm a reader first, just like you, and was so caught by Mrs. Johnesee's anthology that I contacted her to know more about her writing. She's a nice person, open to suggestions and advice. I suggested her to allow people get a sample of her writing skills with 'DOORS', the best from her collection in my humble opinion.
I was so in love with the story that I offered myself as cover designer ... and she accepted.
What's so amazing in this shorty, you are surely wondering?
It's twists and well-researched plot. Mrs. Johnesee knows a lot about human psychology, and she shows it in this tale. Being a short tale, I can't tell you more, except you have to read down to the last line to get the whole drama. And that's amazing.
I'm so proud to have my tiny piece of art gracing the cover of this little jewel.

This is an amazing short story that will open your eyes to mental illness and make you wonder if some of the doctors who work with these people really know what they are getting into. This is a fictional story but gives you the feeling that this is something that could happen. This story is incredibly well written and I promise after you read it you will be looking for more by this outstanding author, Jamie Johnesee.

The twists and turns are wonderfully wrenching... Until the very last sentence. I was absorbed and read through so quickly with an urge to know what happened next that I had to read through a second time to make sure I caught everything. Bravo, Jaime!

Jaime Johnesee has done it again as she takes us inside the world of a sick mind. The way the good Dr. Everby uses two different medical fields to attempt to help her patients is remarkable. The story relates how a former soldier with PTSD is treated with Dr. Everby's novel approach to treating the disease. However as one door is closed in a person's mind another door is bound to be opened with unexpected results. I must admit I didn't see the ending in this story until the last line. A very good read.
