Book Description

100 Period Details July 2000
Doors and Windows concentrates on the design and decoration of doors and windows through the ages, with a wide range of examples from medieval to Art Deco. The illustrations display door and window details from English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish houses, both grand and modest, and a mixture of exteriors and interiors. Here are ravishing examples of carved panels and pediments, of ormolu decoration on doorcases, of elaborate window or door architrave molding, and intricate architectural window forms.

This review is from: Doors & Windows: 100 Period Details from the Archives of Country Life (Paperback)
This is an excellent source to look at and enjoy but if you are looking for an idea book you should pass on this one.....unless you are building a multi-million dollar castle. The architectural details are works of art here and would be appropriate for few homes being built today. I still love looking at the images within.
