This will be, was, & check this out STILL is one of THEE the best Gazer-lp's of ALL TIME!!! Hands down no holds barred PRE-beat ladden & BETTER Elektronics then Liam Howlett of Prodigy E-V-E-R thought of kicking up, more Full-on wall-of-guitars meets hushed VERY seductive, whispered-vocals than ANY Portishead lp & darker; & yet MORE rockin than ANY wanna-be non-traditionalist goth group with ShoeGazablity in their pinky finger than most too oft mentioned groups of said genre!!! (O_O) If you think you can find better, heavier, more beautiful sound, group, & lp over this ...I'll kiss your @ss!!! HA-HA ...Good luck hunting fool b/c you will NOT!!! This IS where you come too get ALL your "warm-fuzzies"; drenched in atmospheric/etheral layers of guitar!!!

Curve released three E.P.'s before releasing this album. The three E.P.'s are combined on a collection called "Pubic Fruit" which I think is the best of all Curve albums. I remember being a little disappointed in "Doppleganger" when I first listened to it because the first three E.P. releases were better. My expectations must have been too high. "Doppleganger" is full of great songs though. "Fait Accompli" and "Horror Head" were two tracks released as singles and are two of the best songs on the album. If you like dark, moody, sexy, and noisy music then this will be great for you. There is no wonder why Curve was always a favorite with the goth crowd.
