Don't get if you have the Snow Princess - same game!,

I wish I had known it was exactly the same game (they didn't even bother with changing the music - only cosmetic changes!!!) as the snow princess and my 4 yr old finished it in less than 1 hour (the other one costs half the price). Only realized when we put the game in the console so we cannot return it. I will not buy any more Dora games for sure, rip-off!

We have only had this game for a couple days, but my daughter loves it! It is easy for her to understand and holds her attention very well. In the game, the characters talk to you and tell you what to do, and there's an animation of how you have to move the wii controller in order to do certain things. So glad she got this for Christmas!!

I got this game for my 6-year-old daughter. She absolutely loved it, and her 3-year-old sister loved watching her play it. The controls are easy and you don't need to read, so a preschooler could play it by herself after a certain point on the learning curve. The game clearly aims for a very low age range -- I think it was technically a bit young for my six-year-old -- and is very forgiving, so that novices won't get frustrated or make grownups play the game for them.
However, the total play time for my daughter was only about 3 hours. For a $40 game, I expect a LOT more than that. At the current prices, it's a complete ripoff. The PC/Mac version seems to be a lot cheaper, so it might be a better buy. The game is also painfully simple, which I think is arguably an advantage for its target audience of very young kids playing one of their first video games, but might make it boring or maddening for more experienced kids (or some adults). In summary, if you don't care about the high price for extremely short play time (or the price comes down) and have a very young child new to video games, this would be a fine choice and lots of fun. But anyone who cares about getting their money's worth should not pay more than about $15 for this game.

I have a 3 yr old daughter and she had come home from a friends saying that she had played this game and liked it...which got me thinking maybe she was ready. So, I took a leap and got this game for her for Christmas. I'm impressed! The game is forgiving of her movements and with no "enemies" and the inability to fall off cliffs Dora can't "die". Overall there was minimal frustration for her (and for us) and we only had to help with a couple of things which she has now learned how to do. Oh!--and the music, NOT Annoying!
*In a nutshell, she's happy and we're happy!

End Game Is Far Too Easy and Short,
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom (Video Game)
We bought this for our five-year-old and she completed the game in less than two hours. That's nuts. A video game should have more to it than this. The end game is far too easy. There is nothing challenging about this at all. It has Dora in it and that's about the only positive to it (assuming of course, your kids are Dora fans). After our kindergartner finished, our two-year-old picked up the Wii remote and started playing it. She's two. And even she got bored after about 10 minutes. Granted, the Dora show itself is so repetitive that the game could potentially be played over again, and like re-watching a DVD over and over, your child might play this more than once. Or s/he might not. Is it worth $20 gamble when there are far more engaging games out there? We didn't think so. Nope. Our kids haven't touched this game since that first day. Wasted $20, honestly. Get World Of Zoo instead. It's fabulous and the same price. Our kids have both been playing it for over a year now, and still have a lot of fun every time, because there is no "end game" to it, unlike this Dora game.

This is a good game for small kids, I got this game for my 4yr. grand-daughter, one of the best things I've ever bought her. Her 10yr. old brother likes this game too. There is alot of moving around in this game, it's not for a lazy kid. There is climbing, ice skating, jumping, sliding and snow boarding, and lot of fun things to do and find. I really recommend this game.

Another Hit For Younger Players!,

Another great version of the Dora and Diego games for young children. We bought the originals while we were searching for simple wii games our young children could play independently.
Very simple controls, very simple levels. They can miss getting half of the items and still complete the level without having to go back. The controls are identical between the games, just with different backgrounds and stories, my 4 year old can play this independantly and it has a mode which will let an older childen or parent "assist", as well as sets of racing games that they can play together. My children go back and play through levels all the time. If you want a game for your 3-7 year old to learn how to play on the wii by themselves, this is your game. I was thrilled to see the new titles in the series and will continue to reccommend this game to other parents.

My son loves this game. He is 4. Great little game for small children. I imagine that kids over 5 years, especially boys, might not be so interested in this. Part of the fun is the way the child has to manipulate the wii remote to make things happen. Dora's voice explains how to hold or move the remote to make her character advance, for example, climb up a ladder. Also, working through the paths and finally obtaining a crystal is exciting for the kids. Overall, very fun and nice game for a little child, especially one who likes Dora.

I saw this game at the apple store and my daughter liked it, so I figured she would like it on the Wii. The PC game is better and more educational.

Very disappointed in this game. Graphics are so poor, boots seems to be 'dancing' when standing next to Dora. My four year old lost interest in about 20 minutes tops - is otherwise very much into video games and loves anything to do with the Wii. Sound is very low, and inferior quality as well. Appears to be a game at a quality levell similar to when VHS tapes were converted to DVD. Didn't see my child get much out of it because couldn't get her to stay interested long enough.
