4.0 out of 5 stars Two holidays for the price of one!
Kids get two holiday specials for the price of one on this Dora disk! As you can guess from the title, Egg Hunt, the first episode in this collection is all about gathering Easter eggs. 3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I have a three yr old daughter who is addicted to Dora, and has all of the tapes and dvd's. We sit patiently waiting for the new ones to come out. I was excited for this one to come out, even though the TV had played Egg Hunt over and over. I was very disappointed to see the two extra episodes were repeats! 4.0 out of 5 stars Two holidays for the price of one!, March 11, 2004
Kids get two holiday specials for the price of one on this Dora disk! As you can guess from the title, Egg Hunt, the first episode in this collection is all about gathering Easter eggs. Boots the Monkey and Dora search for eggs that are both extravagantly decorated and filled with fun prizes. But these beautiful egg treasures are only tiny teasers compared to the grand prize: the Big Yellow Egg at Grandma's house!

In the second episode, Dora celebrates Mother's Day (El Dia de Las Madres) by helping her papa bake a cake for mama. Dad didn't do his grocery shopping very well, and Dora goes on an adventure through various forests to gather the bananas, nuts and chocolate that he forgot. She uses her counting skills to complete Padre's recipe, and helps throw a terrific party for her mother.

Two other musical cartoons are on the disk, one about a music parade and one about a magic flute belonging to a boy named Pablo. The first two holiday cartoons have a wonderful emphasis on family, plus the usual Dora skills like counting, Spanish language, and computer literacy. The last two episodes follow the Dora formula of using the map and backpack to find items, but they also have a couple of fun little songs interjected, not to mention the adorable story of Pablo and his grandfather.

By their nature, the Dora cartoons are immensely repetitive. Your child learns exactly how to respond to each scenario, cheered on by Dora, Boots and all the other cute critters of Dora's tropical homeland. Repetition is how children learn, so Dora is a great character for pre-schoolers. However, beware the savvy marketing of the Dora Empire. Each episode is stuffed full of glittery items that your kid will insist that she needs, from Dora's pretty bracelet to her backpack to her shoes, etc., etc. A trip to your local Wal-Mart will show you that absolutely EVERYthing in Dora's universe is for sale, plus some additional items you never would have dreamed necessary for survival as a child. Be ready for your little girl to beg, plead and mutter curse words in Spanish if you don't acquiesce.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Dora as judged by how much my kids love to watch this, May 29, 2005
We have owned this DVD for a few months now, and having owned many Dora DVDs too, I can easily say this is the one that my kids love to watch the most. The watch it over and over again, far more than any other of the Dora's titles.

The Egg Hunt episode is extremely well done, as Dora, Boots and the whole gang go and look for Easter Eggs and find beautiful Egss that are filled with toys and surprises. You would even get Swiper dressed as an Easter bunny to try to get it's hands on the eggs.

The other episodes on the DVD are lovely too, with Pablo's flute being a nice tribute to South American flute traditional songs.

If you are a spanish speaker, the DVD come with a Spanish track in which Dora and their friends speak spanish and teach lessons of basic english. This version here is region 1, but you can find a Region 4 version at many retailers in Latin America.

A great DVD for your little kids (especially liked by those 2-4 yrs old).

The two on there, Pablos flute and La Musico have already been released on tapes. So, just keep that in mind, you really arent getting extra episodes, my daughter does not watch this one anymore. Bummer! We keep waiting!!

My kids, who are almost 4 and 1 1/2, both LOVE this Dora DVD. They have watched it over and over since I bought it a few days ago, and can't get enough! I think Dora is very educational, and both of my babies, even my 1 year old, are learning Spanish! Go Dora!

My 2.5 year old daughter wanted to watch this every day for two months. While she loved the egg hunt episode, she didn't watch the other episodes very much. It's cute and demonstrates that not all Easter eggs have candy inside!

My 2 and a half yr old loved it! he LoVes easter eggs!! he picked this out of all the movies for rental in hollywood video & we had it for a week & played it every day! Dora is great- educational.

Did not run into the problem of "play all" only playing 2 episodes like on Dora the Explorer - City of Lost Toys
DVD.. i reviewed it also, frustrating having to hunt for the other 2 episodes.. "play all" function should REALLY play them all!!! hence the words "PLAY ALL"

So far my grand daughter hasn't watched this all the way through. It doesn't seem to hold her interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dora's Egg Hunt DVD, April 27, 2010
Got this for my granddaughter's Easter basket; she is 2 yrs old and very into Dora; she just loves this DVD; out of all the DVD's she has, and I'd say she has about 20, she asks to watch the "egg" one quite often.
