My 2 year old daughter received this doll for her birthday last week and she loves it. She has fun pressing her hand, and alternating the different objects in Dora's other hand. Dora sings, and asks you to exchange the object in her hand.I have a few problems with this toy though. THe taped voice is difficult to understand, and even I have trouble understanding the clues Dora gives you. I also don't like the way the pants covered the battery compartment- they could spare a little more fabric. Also, since Dora is known for carrying her backpack around, why wasn't this doll diven a backpack to hold all the objects. It's just a matter of time before we lose a piece. An additional note to parents of Dora fans- if you get enough of the Dora talking toys, you find that they all say about the same thing. This is good as far as a repetetive learning thing, but it makes me refrain from buying too many Dora electronic toys.

My 2 year old recieved this as a birthday gift from a relative and when she opened the box my first reaction was oh no this thing is going to be stupid. Boy was I surprised when we finally got it out of the box and my daughter started playing with it. The way they have made this toy change its lines so that it's not always the same ol' same ol' is amaizing. I think I'm going to have to buy more batteries soon. The only problem I've seen so far is if your child is a bit impatient Dora gets confused and thinks she is still holding the last object.

My daughter received this toy for her first birthday. Yes, this is a bit younger than what the manufacturers recommend but she loves it just the same.Dora is one of her favorite cartoon so it was no doubt that she would be thrilled by this toy. It comes with a star, butterfly, bird, and frog that can be attached to the palm of Dora's hand. Dora will ask "Can you find my friend who is yellow?" and the child responds by placing the correct character into her hand. Dora might then give the name of the character/thing in Spanish and she even has a very catchy little tune she will sing that goes a little something like this: "Hola Star/Frog/Bird You Make Me Soooo Happy! We all have something that makes us happy/ My daughter dances, smiles, and claps the minute she starts singing this song. In fact, this was the first song she ever actively danced to. My thirteen month old is still too young to identify and place the friends into Dora's hand but she can push the button on Dora's palm to activate the song herself. With Mommy's help this toy has become a hit in our home.

We love this Dora! Our 3 year old names what is on Dora's hand and sings along with it. We speak spanish at home, so this doll also helps her with her spanish skills. This doll is durable and the pieces are not too small and sturdy. We keep Dora all together with her pieces so they don't get lost in one of her colored bins. Overall this toy is great, and also loved by 2 year olds that have come to our home and played with it.

The toy is fun for my three year old; however, we have had a terrible time keeping track of Dora's "friends" which is the reason I rated durability rather low. When you place the "friend" in Dora's hand, there is no locking mechanism; so as my little girl is running around the house -as children do- with her Dora doll, Dora's "friends" are flying at my 4 month old's head. No injuries to report thus far, though. Also, we have already lost (and found) two of Dora's "friends". If I had one suggestion to make it would be to include Backpack with the doll, making Backpack fully functional so that the "friends" can live there when not in use. I have also been disappointed with Dora's phrases. Apparently, she is to say 30 interactive phrases and in the entire time my daughter has had her Dora doll, I've only heard a total of 8 phrases, which is my justification for rating Dora's educational value low as well.

My daughter is the hugest Dora fan! She is 4 years old, and sleeps on Dora sheets, wears Dora clothes and already has the original talking/singing Dora doll which she carries everywhere. When she saw this doll, it was all she asked to get for Christmas. She is now very in love with this doll! She's as cute as the "We Did It" Dora, but has the added interactive feature of asking for her different "magic friends" for the child to place in her hand. My daughter treats this doll as though Dora is real and is actually having conversations with her. It's very sweet. My only complaint is that the characters could easily get lost! I have used a child-size Dora backpack to help with that - my daughter just has to remember to pack it around to place the characters the doll is not holding into it.

Half the time Dora doesn't even know what little friend she's holding ,that is if my daughter can find them!!! Most of the time Dora repeats her words over and over and over again like a broken record!! She is a huge Dora fan but has lost all interest in this toy. Wish I could get my money back.

I bought this for my girlfriend's 3 year old and she absolutely loves it. She takes it with her to school every day. She already learned the little song that Dora sings and knows how to switch Dora's friends on the palm of her hand, herself. It's a good idea to keep Dora's friends always in your sight because once lost the doll will loose some of it's coolness. But I'm happy that I could make a 3 year old jump for joy. Great gift idea for a little Dora fan.

My daughter received this Dora for her second Birthday. On the second day we noticed Dora started skipping her lines, getting stuck on a phrase like a broken record. We changed the batteries and that helped for another two days. There are times we put the frog on her hand and she says "hello star" and starts saying all the star things, this has happened with all the toys. We have even taken out the toys and she still goes on and on about them instead of saying goodbye. And poor Dora sings the same song over and over and her head must hurt because it and her hand clicks while she is singing.
Yes, my daughter has no idea of Dora's flaws but I feel that for $30 you should get a good product. And my daughter wants to know where Boots the monkey is. I think it should atleast come with her backpack so there is a place to store these little toys so they don't get lost.

"Santa" got this for my daughter(3) a year ago. I hope they've improved since, but like other reviews, we too had the problem with Dora not finishing what she was saying/singing. My biggest turn-off was when she'd say, "Can you find my friend who is yellow?" And when we'd give her the yellow star, she'd reply, "That's my friend who chirps," then repeat the question again. And sometimes we could give her (for example) the butterfly, in response to her question, and it would be correct. My daughter actually had fun laughing and telling her that she was wrong. Needless to say, it's already packed up for charity.
