4.0 out of 5 stars Great for young Dora Lovers
It can be difficult to find games for any game system that cater to the pre-reading or early reading crowd, and that's one reason Dora is great. My 4-year old enjoys this game very much.

3.0 out of 5 stars Way, way too short!
My 5-year old daughter really likes this title, but she beat it in about 20 minutes. That's not to say it doesn't have replay value, because she's played it several times since then, but it's a very small, very limited game - 20 minutes from start to finish?

We'll see how much she still wants to play it over the long term, but I gave it 5 stars for fun and...

My 5-year old daughter really likes this title, but she beat it in about 20 minutes. That's not to say it doesn't have replay value, because she's played it several times since then, but it's a very small, very limited game - 20 minutes from start to finish?

We'll see how much she still wants to play it over the long term, but I gave it 5 stars for fun and only 3 for value, since it's a full-priced title at almost $30 and it seems like there should be more to it than there is.

Keep in mind also that this is not a "play quietly" game. The kids are required to speak into the microphone to make things happen in the game (which is pretty cool actually). They love it. People around you may not. :)

My 5 yr daughter likes dora, The game was easy to play and she had spent only 30 minutes, then she was bored. Thus this game is not worth the money for the game play time and learning experience

4.0 out of 5 stars Dora Saves the Mermaid for Toddlers/Preschoolers, February 28, 2009

My two year old son is obsessed with his sisters DS and constantly insisted "pay DS..pay DS". I purchased the Dora game for him and it is PERFECT for a young child. With just a little help from me or sister, he has had a great time tapping and moving Dora with the controls. The simplicity of the game makes it a great choice for a younger child. I would love to find another similar game for him.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best for 2-3 year olds, October 28, 2009

A great game for the littlest gamers. Easy concepts to master and fun interactions, such as talking into the microphone to stop Swiper. I bought this game for my 2-1/2 year old.

I bought this for my niece a few months ago. She loves it, especially because there's no reading involved. She gets frustrated with the other games because they all seem to require some level of reading, but not this one! I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a sweet game for the pre-reader.

I bought this game for my 3 year old daughter after reading all of the positive reviews on it. We tried to let her play other games, but some were just too hard for her to play. The games on here are easy and she has a lot of fun playing them. The games all have the same rotating themes so if your kid is over the age of 5 they may get bored with it quickly. I am going to buy her another Dora game for the DS because we like this one so much. =)

2.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievably short and easy!!, March 12, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Mermaids (Video Game)
My daughter just received this game for her 4th birthday along with her very own DS. She seemed to have fun with it but after less than 1 day she came to me and said she got through the game and saved the mermaid. I thought that there is no way she could have gotten through the game in less than 1 hour. I went and checked through the game and the instructions to find out what other things or levels there were to play to find out that there were no other things to do. I am completely appauled by how little this game has to offer. It probably took 1 week for the developers to put this game together, slap the Dora name on it and send it out for parents to get for there children thinking that there children will get a great learning experience that will last for a few months or at least a few weeks. Not 1 hour. !!
I would definitely not recommend buying this game. It should be included free in a box of cereal.

Our daughter just turned 4 and really likes this game. From a parental prespective, it is pretty short and I would never buy for someone over the age of 4. It's too easy and short for the older kids.

My seven-year-old daughter had fun playing this game, but beat the game in around 15 minutes. The price is ridiculous considering that there are plenty of better Dora-themed games that can be played free online.
