5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game for the young Wii player
We are new to the Wii and have 5 kids from 16 years old down to 3. I was concerned I wouldn't find a game that my youngest could play and that would hold her attention. Fortunately, I read the reviews here and decided to try it. This game is definitely perfect for a young child. It follows the typical Dora story line as in her cartoon and that is what the game is based...

2.0 out of 5 stars For kids under 4 who have never played Diego!
If you have ever played Diego's Safari game and your child is 3 or maybe 4 years old you could try this game. It is EXACTLY like the Diego game except its Dora. My 5 year old who loves Dora didn't even want to finish it past 20 minutes because she says "its the same as diego mom its so boring" and it is the same! I think the Diego is a great game for smaller kids getting used to the wii, but if youve played it before, this is about 90% exactly like it!

We are new to the Wii and have 5 kids from 16 years old down to 3. I was concerned I wouldn't find a game that my youngest could play and that would hold her attention. Fortunately, I read the reviews here and decided to try it. This game is definitely perfect for a young child. It follows the typical Dora story line as in her cartoon and that is what the game is based on. it explains everything when it needs to be as well as gives visual help. My daughter is 3 months shy of being four years old and she really enjoyed it out of the box, and as her first video game experience. I have to say that my 5, 8 & 10 year olds also got a kick out of playing it as well. Probably just a novelty, as I can't say they would be as interested in it as my three year old, but they did enjoy "helping" my daughter learn.

I have to say, I am in awe that the makers of a video game as complex as the Wii could make something that a young inexperinced Wii player could handle.

This is a must have for any child who likes Dora.

It's difficult to find a game that young kids can easily play. Fortunately this is one. My daughter had NO problem picking up the controller and playing the game. She actually had FUN with the Wii and we got some use out of it. Great game.

I honestly don't ever take the time to write reviews. I have finally decided to pay it forward because I find reviews very helpful. I bought this game as a Hanukkah present for my 3 (4 next month) year old. She absolutely loves it, and she doesn't require a lot of help from mom and dad. I think the thing that I like most is you can put it on an instruction mode, and when you have to move the remote a certain way, it shows you. My child is not that mechanically inclined, so I was completely encouraged when she was doing it by herself. My almost 2 year old is also captivated by the game, and is copying his big sister. I think this will be a fun interactive game for a long time in this household.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adult help not needed!, April 24, 2009

This game is perfect for our 5 year old and for our 7 year old with special needs. Why? Because the game is so simple that they don't need adult supervision to play the game! they simply follow the motions of the on-screen guide that shows how to move the controller. the game is also very forgiving which minimizes frustration. A side benefit is that it does have a fair amount of motion, arm waving, up/down, etc. to exercise the kids.

That said, I do agree with another reviewer that this is very similar to the Diego game and for most people, one or the other is sufficient.

Bottom line, this game has provided hours of entertainment for our kids with only casual parent supervision - that is, we can actually do something else at the same time!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for a 1st time gamer or Toddler, November 1, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess (Video Game)
We got this for my three year old for her b-day. She loves Dora and had read this was pretty easy. She needed help here and there sometimes but overall it's great for youngsters and new to video games. However it is pretty short but she didn't mind playing it over even after beating the game. She played it 4 times and had beat the game.

Update~ Now that we've had the game a while my DD has beaten the game several times and she still gets excited when we let her play it. We have also bought one of the Diego games which is very similar in format but it's still a different "plot". It's not something I'd by for kids who have been playing games for a while. I wouldn't buy this for anyone older then 4-5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dora Saves the Snow Princess Wii Game, February 19, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess (Video Game)
Great for very young children. I have a 3 yr. old and a 4 yr. old. The 3 yr old has some difficulty with the game, but the 4 yr. old is able to play the game with ease. I have purchased some other Wii games that target kids that were almost too difficult for my 4 year old to play. This is a great game for a young child starting to play Wii games.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Easy, November 29, 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess (Video Game)
This game is too easy. My 5 year old completed it in 2 hours of game time. Not very much time for the money. No levels. Once you save the princess it is done. The only thing that was good was that there are no creatures chasing or trying to get you and the "witch" is really mild. It was perfect for my daughter, just wish I had rented it instead.

I bought this game for my 5 year old as one of the first Wii games. It is definitely NOT a game she could do initially by herself. It requires a lot of listening and following directions as to how to work the remote. It changes quite a lot during the adventure and therefore I found myself sitting with her during the whole game! Maybe after a few times of doing it she will eventually get it, however right now she still needs my help to play it. Fun, interactive and of course lot's of Dora and Boots!

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy for younger kids but over quickly, January 7, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess (Video Game)
We have just purchased a Wii and wanted to get games for our young kids to be involved with. They love playing computer games so we thought this could really be fun for them as well. We bought this one specifically for our 4 year old daughter. She "saved the princess" in less than 2 hours of playing time. (not one sitting - it does save once you have reached different levels) It was easy, obviously, because she has never played any Wii game before or manipulated a Wii remote. She loved it though and wanted to play and play and play. I was very glad we got this game from the "value" bin at the store because I would have been very upset to have spent $30-40 like most Wii games are and she finished it so fast. There is no easy/hard option level like on the computer game. She still wants to play it though and for a 4 year old it was very fun and I didn't have to help her at all. (We also got her Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom - it is the same exact game, just different theme. Live and learn! She loves it though.)
