Not the beat sit and spin that i have seen. But my 3 year old loves it.I don't like the clicking noise that it makes.I think because of the oval seat.It also is way loud! No volume control. It does have an on and off switch though. But she loves it and i guess thats all that matters.I hope this review helps you.

Oval Sit n Spin = BAD!!!!,
By Debbie B "debbie5r" (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dora the Explorer Sit ?n Spin (Toy)
Whoever thought that an oval sit n spin would be a good idea didn't try it out! My two year old loves my five year old daughter's round sit n spin. I bought him this one and he gets frustrated because if he sits in the wrong place, he can't get it to go. You have to sit on the two ends with the stars. When my five year old tries to use this Dora sit n spin, she slides off of the ends. Also, she complains that it doesn't go as fast as her round sit n spin. You can see why. The spinning is odd because of the shape, and you can't get a consistent speed going. I'm going to have to buy another round sit n spin to avoid the constant arguing over who gets to use the good one!

It has one star, only because there isn't a way to give negative stars. This is not like the hard plastic, easy to spin sit and spins that I remember (as a child of the late 70's). This is a cheaply made piece of junk that even my easy to please 3 year old finds uninteresting and boring. The part the child holds on to (the pink part w/ Dora's face on in) feels like it's going to break off. It gives when you try and spin, so your child can't really spin that fast on it. Our other experience with it is that the electronics went out on day 2.
Don't bother with this toy...no matter how much fun you remember them being, this one will not compare to that.

I bought Dora sit and spin for my grandaughter, I remembered the old ones my kids had and how much fun they had. This one doesn't spin well, will not spin at all on carpet. The electronic sound has broken in less than 2 months, it's very cheaply made and not sturdy. I would recomend looking for an old one.

The Dora sit and spin is cute and it's very interactive for a child, they only thing that its more for smaller kids. The toy will flip if they child is to heavy so keep that in mind.

"Santa" left this for my 19 mos old, but my 4 yr old loves it just the same! They both played with it for at least 20 minutes at a time each Christmas morning. They continue to play with it daily. My oldest loves to spin until dora counts to five.

I understand the comments that the sit and spin isn't quite as "durable" as an original, but you will hear no complaints from my two year old. She loves to play the music and spin over and over again. She can do it herself, but isn't strong enough to really get it going yet. So, maybe the durability hasn't really been challenged. Overall, I found it to be a perfect two year old toy in every way.

My two year old loves spinning and Dora, the perfect combination. The only drawback is that it cannot be used on the carpet.

Sit and spin toys are a great way to keep busy toddlers from being right under your feet all the time. They also have the mystical quality of making a child exhausted and ready to settle down and rest.
They work best on a hard floor, so you need to be sure there is nothing too close to them that is breakable -- the kids may fall off; they will definitely be dizzy when they try to stand -- or they exaggerate and fall anyway. Either way, they have a good time. For two kids, have one for each. They will race each other to see who can spin the most -- and fall down the least...giving mom a bit of a break! |
