3.0 out of 5 stars it really does work, December 25, 2010

I got this as a stocking stuffer and it was the hit of the evening! It actually works pretty well (You can get sturdier ones for twice the price) Not only that, it talks too! It comes with easy-to-use software for your computer (if I could do it anyone can!) includes games - mazes, puzzles, memory match, and crosswords and includes the cable to connect it to the computer. The program is pretty powerful and would let me store pictures anywhere on my hard drive. It's bright colored, easy for small hands to use, shows you how many 'shots' you have left. It got dropped several times and held up fine. Sure the photo quality isn't top notch but that's not the goal with a 4 year old, they just want to feel big and the pictures she took (when she wasn't running too) actually came out pretty good. We got a few laughs out of it too. Definitely a good buy for the money, and a lot of fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, July 27, 2011

Light, cheap piece of plastic garbage.

I did not expect canon quality, but for 30 dollars, I expected something a little more than what looks like a disposable $1 toy.

cons:

-the plastic on this thing feels like no more than 1mm, so cannot withstand a single drop

-it comes with a propriety cable, so if you lose it, then there is no way you can download your pics

- you need to purchase a set of miniature screwdrivers to install the batteries. The battery compartment is screwed down with a Philip head screw about the size of a screw you find on a pair fo reading glasses.

- there is no viewfinder, just a LCD which displays how much photos you have taken.

Pros:

- My 2 year old daughter likes it because it is dora branded

- pics are awful, so if you lose the propriety cable to download pics, it is no real loss

At the time of purchase, I also bought a pink 5.1 megapixel $39 vivitar camera for my 4 year old and I would recommend that you buy one of these - a real camera instead with video capability. Where you would get some use out of it.

Can't see pic on display when you take it. It just tells you that you have one less pic available to take. That's my only complaint.
