This was a giveaway when my mom bought her new TV.

Pros: People are amused to see it; it's a good conversation-starter. Of course, after a week, all the people I know have already seen it, so it's not so exciting.

Cons: It makes lots of noise (there's the fan, plus the popping -- those you get with any air popper -- but there's also a loud buzzing that seems to be the whole unit vibrating against the countertop), so you can't run it during a movie or at the office. And it spews a couple of duds for almost every popped kernel.

At fist glance you would think it is a well constructed & designed machine,but trying to make a batch of popcorn from this machine- well if the noise don't bother you than the fact that you have so many unpopped kernels will.
Avoid this machine or you will end up wasting time and money returning it.

I got this popper for my wife for Christmas and it broke after one use. the air circulating fan is plastic and the motor to turn it is high torque metal, so it strips the plastic. Not sure how easy it's gonna be to replace the unit. I did not get a dud. It's an engineering flaw. Looks cool but i would rather have an ugly $20 air popper than an $80 counter top weight. Too bad :(

Got this as a free unit for buying a tv. Worked ok for the first month. There are A LOT of unpopped kernals. But the worst; something is wrong with the fan or motor or something. It sounds like something is stuck in the fan, though it still spins and blows. The problem is, whatever the problem with it is, it spews out smoke and a real rancid burning smell. I tried to get into it, but that seems to be nearly impossible. Too bad too, it's kind of a "cute" popper. I guess I can't complain too loud, it was free after all....which is way to expensive for how it turned out.

The surface on this unit could burn you it is so hot. I also would rather have a $20 unit that makes good popcorn without all the waste of unpoped corn. It blew fuses out a number of times. I now use it in the laundry room where there is higher amps.

I have had my machine for 4 years and it makes great popcorn. Makes a bit of noise and gets plenty of attention at parties. Half the pleasure is it looks great just sitting there when it's doing nothing! It does leave some unpopped kernals, because when the corn pops, it makes other unpopped kernals jump out with it, but I just bung them back in again and they pop right away. This thing is made of glass and metal, beats plastic anytime.

I can't believe all the bad reviews! I received this as a gift for Christmas a few years ago and it worked perfect the first time. We use it off and on and it works every time with no problems at all. We moved and it had been stored in our garage for 6 months. We had a party last night and we dusted it off and again it worked perfectly! The adults and kids loved it and now my friends want to get one. The fan is a little loud during the popping process but it's not a big deal. People who have written reviews make it seem like a jet is flying over the house.... come on people, be real. This is a great popcorn machine, everyone loves it and the popcorn always tastes hot and fresh. It's awesome!!!!!!

I myself think it is worth the money..Sure...you lose some kernels..but the making of the popcorn is fun in this machine..Granted I bought it in a retail store for less but it is still worth it.
