It puts out almost as much light as one of those high-dollar tactical lights that I own, but without the expensive CR123 batteries. It produces a tight, very bright beam. The flashlight has a charcoal-grey colored matte finish on a machined aluminum tube. The tube is checkered, so it won't easily slip out of your grasp. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries which are supplied. The beam will easily reach 100+ feet. Unlike other tactical lights which have xenon bulbs, the LED bulb on this flashlight will not heat up(and burn your fingers). Because it does have an LED light source, I expect battery life to be good.

The cons:

polycarbonate lens could scratch easier than glass (no big deal)

The button is on the end cap. I would have preferred the switch to be located where my thumb would be while holding it (again, no big deal)

There is no "dim" switch mode. It puts out too much light for use as a task light, where you don't want to be blinded if you are working in a small area. (but then, it is marketed as a tactical light)

Overall, the advantages far outweigh the cons if you want a very bright light source for a third of the price of the more expensive tacticals.

Ordered two of these lights. Put in the batteries and turned them on. The lights seemed to be fine until you went to turn them off. The tail cap switch on BOTH light didn't work and you had to click the switch a dozen times to get the light off! I returned them as defective. Only got one returned from Dorcy and that switch was defective also. I'm still trying to get my second light but am getting the run around.

Well constructed flashlight and puts out a lot of light. Fits perfect in my jacket pocket to walk the dog in the dark. Battery life is not as good as some LED flashlights I have had that is why I gave it 4-stars.

Like another reviewer on here says... flashlight switch on cap doesn't do anything but click. Have to unscrew ( break connection) for light to go off. Appears to be a good LED flashlight, but for the faulty switch, I'm having a hard time justifying $22 for it. Will most likely ask for refund. I'm going to think about it for a day.

Nice compact light is bright and sturdy, but I ordered two of these and both had intermittent switches -- would go on but not always go off with clicking the switch several times. I have contacted the manufacturer and see what they say, hard to believe I could get two with the same issue. May be a quality control issue with an otherwise nice product.

This little light is only small in size. It fits in the palm of your hand. Its output is comparable to a light ten times its size. I love this light.

Flashlight is very bright and small. Built very well. Plan to get another one.

I've had this for about a month now and was very impressed with the brightness of this small flashlight. This is my first and only LED light. Great spot and intense white light.

Brighter than my two cell AA mag light, and other two cells but not nearly as bright as my five cell D mag light.

I don't use this a lot. Perhaps a minute or so per day. There is a marked change in brightness over the month, though I'm not sure that it is time to replace the batteries. The light is now about equal to the small mag light.

Initial impression was five stars, but I've lowered that to four and may comment more after I change batteries. Still a very good buy.

Excellent flashlight. I have probably dropped it around 20 times, accidently, and it has held up without any problems. In addition, the AAA battery capacity makes buying batteries more financially friendly on the wallet than those flashlights that take those 12v lithium batteries.
