After probably 5 years of double slamming my pasture putter's door (a 1993 chevy k1500), I finally had enough. This is a very simple fix for a sagging door. It took less than 30 minutes to install, and made me feel pretty lazy for trying to ignore the problem. Use a floor jack to balance the door in place when you pull out the old pins and remove the old bushings. Maybe get someone to hold it balanced on the jack so it doesn't fall. I didn't have a problem though.

Now when installing the new bushings: They are thin, made of brass and very brittle. So are the OEM bushings. If you smack them with a hammer or even a brass drift, they will more than likely shatter. Go to Dorman Product's website, look up the part number, and then see the installation instructions listed under Technical Info. It would have been nice if they included these in the box but they did not... Basically, you need to press them in with a bolt, washers, and a socket. Put the bushing in place and then slide the bolt with washer through it. Then on the other side of the hinge plate slide on the socket (I think I used a 9/16th's, 1/4 drive shallow socket), another washer, and thread on the nut. Tighten and it should easily press the bushing in place.

I've got a 1994 Blazer. The Old Body Style with 2-doors--big heavy doors. After pulling the old door pins; one side had actually bent the hinge pin and the other side the bushings were worn out. These went in perfectly just as advertised. Fixed the doors right up. Now the doors open and close like new again.

I highly recommend the bushing tool removal kit to go along with this. It definitely helped and was worth the few extra dollars.

Now, hopefully these pins and bushings will last!

Ordered these from Amazon on Saturday the 28th of December.
Received them on MONDAY the 30TH!!! AMAZON SHIPPING IS AMAZING!!!!
Now onto the the product
They fit as they are supposed to and had no problems with the bushings.
I used a 5/16 bolt that was 1 1/4 inches long with two flat washers and nut as an installation tool for the bushings.
I pulled them in with the bolt and then tapped them slightly with a small hammer to finish the job.

I am an amateur and it was easy with the right tools. This works great, fixed my door, which will spare extra wear on the door handle. Do not try this without the hinge spring removal tool, you'll be unsuccessful and maybe hurt yourself. At the very least you will save yourself time.

Hinge pin is higher quality than original GM part. The bushings are fragile. Find a way to press or lightly tap the bushings in - if you hit the top with a hammer they will shatter. Retaining clip is also not very strong, but that follows the original GM design.

I was a little skeptical about using these door pins, mainly because of the bad reviews, but they turned out to be a great product. For all of those people out there giving this product bad reviews because of the brittle bushings, the original bushings are just as brittle! I shattered the original bushings trying to get them out. Using a c-clamp to install the new bushings works like a dream. Don't waist your money on the spring compression tool, use a pair of channel lock pliers and zip tie the spring in the compressed position. Once the spring is in place, cut the ties and... ta da! Thank you YouTube! Anyway, the doors work like a dream. This is a great product.

The bushing is oil lite which is soft. Putting it in the door it fit fine but putting the pin in it crutched it up. There is no need for that type material there. A regular brass bushing would have been better. Now, I'll have to get one made at a machine shop around here, somewhere. I am not sure if Dorman's is the same as or a replica of Chevrolet's version but whether it is or not I am not putting that back in.
Oillite works in places such a drive chains, ( motorcycles, conveyors and such ) but the door moves 30 - 40 degree slowly. It's not necessary. I not bother to send it back. Another waste of time and money, either way.

Let me save you from heartache and grief. The pins are fine but the bushings are junk. We carefully installed the bushings-greased and pressed them in with a C-clamp. Everything went well. Right? Except within a month the weight of the door destroyed the bushing. They are way too brittle as described by other reviewers. Buy this kit if you need pins ( throw away the bushings) as the dealer wants $18.00 per pin. Buy genuine Delco parts-the bushings are not too expensive. I did this and my door has been fine.
