Affordable alternative to aftermarket,

I'd say this aftermarket replacement window regulator is a good, low-cost alternative to an OEM Chrysler replacement part. The fit is excellent and quality is decent, though I'd say not quite as good as the Chrysler OEM part. Compared with the original motor that's still working on my driver's side, this passenger side unit puts the window down about as fast but raises it about 1 second slower than the OEM unit (and that's comparing a brand new aftermarket unit with my 7-year old OEM part). On the other hand, the aftermarket unit's electric motor attaches to the door using actual nuts and bolts rather than the idiotic Torx screw into a rubber grommet that Chrysler used, and which is virtually impossible to remove without cutting it off. Considering how much cheaper this was than the Chrysler OEM part, I'd say it's an excellent value.

This after-market power window motor and regulator worked great as a replacement on our 2001 Chrysler Town & Country minivan for the passenger-side window. Installation is tricky and you should make sure you have plenty of time. Removing the old motor/regulator was harder than installing the replacement. Fasteners (bolts) are better on this product than the original.

I replaced the drivers side window regulator/motor on my wife's 2002 Chrysler Town and Country Limited...perfect fit. Smoother/quieter than OEM. Very pleased by the price...20% less than the autoparts places (plus free shipping!). Will buy Dorman products again. Amazon.com rocks!

I bought this product in Nov.However, i didnt open it till yesterday since my current one was working on and off so was lazy to get it replaced.Yesterday i dropped it off with my mechanic and he said, this is a crappy product, doesnt look good and he said it might not last long(not more than a few months), since i already bought it i asked him to goahead and replace it and when it try to get the existing part out...it doesn't FIT. Now i have to get a part from the dealer to replace this. Waste of time/money and peace of mind. Now since its out of return period, i cant even return it.

This replacement part has been in my van for many months now getting daily use. It hasn't had any problems and still works perfectly. At half the price of the local parts store this was a steal.

Chrysler T&C Window Motor & Regulator,

The price for this window regulator and motor can't be beat. Other sites charged nearly double the price for the same part. I don't even know how much Chrysler wanted for the OEM part - I was afraid to ask. I do know that to have this replaced by my local mechanic, the price would have been around $400. Unfortunately this part ships with no directions what-so-ever. But there are some YouTube videos and some other information that can be found on the 'net if you google about. A good YouTube video was showing how the regulator was on a Chrysler Pacifica. Unfortunately, the Town & Country is not the same but its similar enough. The hardest parts were extracting the old part from the door frame and removing the motor mounting bolts. The removal from the door frame looked like it just wasn't to be but with enough wrangling about, it finally came out. The old motor was installed using rubber grommets rather than nuts. They just don't come out easily but since the rubber is old, eventually you can work the bolts out or just force them out. The new part comes with new nuts & bolts so don't worry about wrecking the old ones. Putting the new part in wasn't as hard as taking the old one out. But, the regulator bars are tricky. After you transfer the screws from the old to the new you should be able to just slide the news ones in place. At least in my case, that worked for one side, but not the other. There was not enough room to slide it into the hole so i had to remove the screws and put them in after the bars were in place. The only other "hard" part was figuring out how to unlock the window from the regulator. Other videos showed the window glass was bolted into the regulator frame. But not on the Town & Country. Its just snapped into the glides. To get the glass off of the regulator you just push (or pull) the clip and the glass pops off. To install, you just push into the regulator slide. All-in-all this wasn't an easy job, but it wasn't all that hard. It took me about 2.5 hours and I'm pretty good working on cars. With directions, it would have been a snap but I was sort of making it up and figuring it out as I went. When it was all back together, the window worked fine. It seems to be a bit slower going up (and makes a bit more noise) than the other window. But so far, its working fine.

I am not a handyman. Product works as advertised for my Chrysler Town & Country 2001.
My recommendation: find someone that has done this before. I was fortunate to have someone watch and give advice with the passenger side, then did the driver side on my own. Getting it in was a challenge on both sides - I could not find a video for this vehicle that allowed me to see the unpublished trick. Other recommendations: - Purchase a few different sizes of those plastic insert clips/fasteners/etc that hold the door in place. You will most likely break one or two no matter how gentle you are. A couple stay in the door and will have to be pushed out then inserted in the piece you took off before putting back in. - Torx. Make sure you have this before you start. - Product comes with the motor fastener having the metal nut. No need to be careful with the rubber equivalent out of the factory. I was careful to keep these (rough to unbolt) with the first window until i went to put this replacement in. Realized I didn't need them and could have saved a bit of time. Product - met expectations. Don't believe rating products that work as advertised 5 stars. No surprises. Proof is the fact that I purchased the other side two weeks later. Yup, they both stopped working within one month of each other. My wife was tired of using the rubber mallet to open and close the window :-)

Received very quickly, exactly what i needed, as good or better than OEM part. Locally, was told item would cost $30 more and take a week for them to get it. With free shipping this item was a great bargain. Installed myself in about 2 hours. Works great.
