Editorial Reviews

Review

"In his heartfelt memoir, Dorothy, St. John Hunt, the son of E. Howard Hunt, reveals startling and unknown details about the Watergate scandal. Dorothy exposes dangerous truths – it was an act of courage to write it." —Mark Lane, author, Citizen Lane

"Was the fatal 1972 plane crash that killed her intended to prevent Mrs. Hunt from telling what she knew about Watergate and other secrets, including the JFK assassination? Who better to present the thrilling story of the intrigue surrounding this woman than her son?" —Jim Marrs, author, Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy

"Dorothy reads like a gripping spy novel and you are wise to have selected this title. I have no doubt that Saint John Hunt will continue to help us uncover the hidden history of the United Sates and the truth shall set us free." —Roger Stone, author, The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ

"I and many others strongly suspected this was a case of cover-up by murder."  —Jim Marrs, author, Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy

"Dorothyis a fascinating story of love, intrigue and espionage. Dorothy Hunt’s key role in Watergate and mysterious death have never been fully examined, until this book. Dorothy reads like a novel and is a gripping spy thriller as well as a true story of untold history." —Eric Hamburg, producer, Nixon

Saint John Hunt's Dorothy is fascinating and revealing. It combines some aspects of a memoir of Saint John's memories of his childhood, his famous CIA agent father E. Howard Hunt, and his less-famous CIA agent mother Dorothy, with quite a bit of historical research. Did Howard Hunt have a roll in CIA-sponsored Latin American political coups? That is in the historical record. While a reader might discount somewhat the author's childhood memories, it would be foolish to discount his memory of helping to dispose of evidence of his father's role in the Watergate break in. The author admits that lawyers (paid with Nixon cash) advised him to lie to a grand jury, which he did. He also confirms Dorothy's roll as a go-between, shuffling cash from the Nixon apparatus to the Watergate burglars to keep them quiet. On the other hand, anyone who wants to doubt Saint John's testimony can point to his admission that he began smoking marijuana at a young age. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to know what it might be like to have a CIA agent as a mother, or who is interested in the details of the Bay of Pigs operation, the Kennedy assassination, or Watergate and its aftermath.

Whenever an important book exposes little known truths... Some reviewer is bound to give such important book one star and ignore its content altogether. "Dorothy" is one of the most important book you could ever read. It exposes a very ugly truth about the world that we live in, which has its roots in the JFK assassination. The undeniable ugly truth is within the pages of "Dorothy". Thank you Mr. Hunt for having the courage to bring to light what "they" did to your mother & for bringing her extraordinary story to the world.

"Dorothy" is a magnificent perception piercing biography about the late wife of E Howard Hunt. To know Dorothy is to love her, respect her and fear her.The ever loving Mother of St. John Hunt comes to life in this intricate and intimate expose' about Dorothy, the CIA and daily life in the Hunt household.Saint John shares the joys, tears, strains and tension surrounding his CIA oriented family. He exposes the agony of having his family fractured by Watergate scandal. With a husband in prison, and several young children still at home, Dorothy sought to protect her children and the family's financial security. She demanded hush money from the Nixon administration and intended to get it at all cost. Dorothy Hunt was murdered by the powers that be for blackmailing people in very high places.
This book is totally about the content. There are many typos but they don't detract from the material.
This book comes straight from the heart of Dorothy's closest treasure, her son.

I enjoyed getting to know Dorothy and her son St. John, and I believe most of the Book. I applaud and support St. John's effort to explain the nightmare they all must have lived and may still be living. I like Dorothy, and I am really sorry she is gone. God bless her and her whole family. It's sad but government is only as good as those who wield its power. There were some consistent grammatical errors, but I can live with it.

This was an interesting readand I'm sure it was hard to write about your mom who died in a plane crash. I've read other books that spoke of E. Howard Hunt associated with JFK. The whole Watergate break-in looks more like a bunch of high schoolers did it rather than trained professionals. This to me indicates that there is a "Bigger Picture" than we know about. If half of what he claims is true, it is very scary. Our media and politicians continue to treat us like mushrooms while they are making huge money and benefits off the back of the middle class

This book lists substantial evidence that Mrs. Hunt's plane was sabotaged and makes you feel for the Hunt's children. What a cruel and devious government we have.

This is a haunting and tragic story of Dorothy and her family. Learning about the impact of E. Howard and Dorothy's work, choices and deaths on the children was very revealing and powerful. The information is in the appendix helps to support and structure this painful personal story. It took courage to write this book. But, the writing is choppy; it transitions back and forth between informal and professional writing styles. There are grammar issues.
