The Dorothy of OZ series really gets off the ground in volume 2. Most of the elements of the original story are brought into play. This alternate version is as much sequel as it is remake. The source of the "Magic" used by the witches, and the Wizard is explained as a pseudo science. Like alchemy. This powerful knowledge and a thirst for control make for some heated conflict in the land of OZ. Mara Shin AKA Dorothy is caught in the midst of the power struggle. A possible pawn in the schemes of adversaries she has yet to meet. And she get's very little time to prepare.

Should a long time manga fan have so much fun? WELL YES... OF COURSE! I was anticipating Volume 2 after devouring Volume 1. The author does carry his unusual tale even further in twists and 'around the bend' surprises in plots rich in fantasy suspense. As I ordered available copies, Volume three is nearby, but volume 2 keeps pulling me back into its wonderful world. |
