This review is from: Do's and Don'ts of Hypoglycemia: An Everyday Guide to Low Blood Sugar (Paperback)
This book is great for first time information on hypoglycemia. I wanted more information on what to eat and not to eat, BUT it did give me alot of information on some other things i did not know. Recommended if you don't know anything about it.

I'm afraid I bought this book because of its excellent cover. Yes, I judged the book by its cover. Its title, "The Do's and Don'ts of Hypoglycemia, an Everyday Guide to Low Blood Sugar", along with 6 colorful photos of food would suggest that this book will detail what you should eat and not eat to overcome low blood sugar.
Note to readers: This is NOT a book which will thoroughly inform you of what you should eat and not eat to overcome low blood sugar. Instead, it is more like a memoir of Roberta Ruggiero--who you will be sure to know by the end of the book--is founder of the Hypoglycemia Support Foundation. Honestly, I don't really care about any support foundation, nor do I need a book that just tells me where to find MORE information about hypoglycemia (thanks, I'll use Google). I just finished reading "The Low Blood Sugar Handbook" by Edward and Patricia Krimmel. This book is 10 times more informative than the "Do's and Don'ts of Hypoglycemia". I look forward to more reading on the subject, but glad for now to have found something more substantial.

My wife was recently diagnosed as Hypoglycemic. Our Doctor told us that many people have this condition but few are aware of it and less are diagnosed. He suggested I get the book, "The Do's and Don'ts of Hypoglycemia" by Roberta Ruggiero. It arrived just before Christmas so it became a present. We are both thrilled with the valid information she has written and my wife is feeling better already!
I went to the book site on Amazon and read a comment by Lana Corrales that was downright vicious. "It's full of patting on the back (for things not relevant to the reader) and useless advice". Perhaps this lady is looking for attention not sound advice! I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels something is wrong with them but don't know what, or those who have been diagnosed as Hypoglycemic. Roberta Ruggerio's book saved my life. After going from doctor to doctor and not being properly diagnosed I came upon this book. If it wasn't for the information I received from this book and her informative website I would still be thinking I was losing my mind. Many doctors do not believe that Hypoglycemia is a real medical issue. Thank goodness for this wonderful dedicated woman and her book. Please pay the negative reviews no mind. I'm not sure which book these two ladies read but it couldn't possibly be Roberta's.

I have read quite a few books on Hypoglycemia and luckily I got this one from the local library before buying it. I am taking the time to review this bc I appreciate others reviews that have saved me money.
It's really just chapters and chapters of things like- DO go out in the sun, Dont make excuses! Really. How about something helpful like the last 5 pages (pp 165-170) that talk about foods to try or avoid. It's shocking to me that someone can pad a book with letters about electroshock therapy and quotations of others complaints and think that is a helpful scenario! The book should be at most 10 pages long! So padded it makes me a bit annoyed. Try Hypoglycemia for dummies- really comprehensive- even has a chapter your friends and family can read.

After recently being diagnosed with Hypoglycemia I found this book very helpful and informative. Ms. Ruggerio touched on many of the emotional aspects that one experiences with Hypoglycemia as well as putting all the medical lingo into laymen's terms. Thank you for such a wonderful book.

This book contains lots of common sense guidelines and good basic information to help you understand hypoglycemia. She includes many books and other places to continue learning about this disorder. I highly recommend this book for anyone that has recently been diagnosed and has no idea what it means.

Weak on facts, strong on empathy,

This books is good for someone who's unfamiliar with hypoglycemia, but is weak on specific facts on nutrition and biology. The Carbohydrate Addict books by Drs. Rachel Heller and Richard Heller provide much more factual information.

The book I got was like new. It was sent quickly and without delay. Thank you. I've had some purchases that I thought had been forgotten by others, but you were speedy and delivered a great product.
