Much easier than dimensional analysis, January 23, 2011
This review is from: Dosage Calculations Demystified (Paperback)
I bought this book at the beginning of nursing school and have used it every semester. I recently re-purchased it because I couldn't find it. If you don't understand dimensional analysis and would rather have easy formulas to remember that bring you to the answer with logic then this is the book or you.

Good little book, December 19, 2011
This review is from: Dosage Calculations Demystified (Paperback)
I got this book partly because I am too overwhelmed by the size of my class textbook, and partly, because I wanted some additional problems to practice with.
This book contains pretty much the same material that I saw on the test I managed to fail last semester after I overestimated my true math abilities. Sad story:-)! Initially, I was attracted to the size is of the book (only 194 PAGES).
I found the book to be very user-friendly. Each chapter contains about 10 solved problems, and the other 10 having answer only. At the end, the author provides 2 comprehensive exams, about 100 questions each per test with answer key. I wish the author also provided not only the solutions. No matter how many times I check 5-7 questions, I can't come to the same results, but it's probably me.
I found this book to be truly helpful because of its clarity and manageability. A few problems even take you to somewhat more complex, just to get you out of your comfort zone. Those tricky twists, the value of which you truly appreciate during the test, push you to get deep into the subject, and not just scratch some surfaces.
This thin book provides in total about 400 problems: oral dosages, parenteral formulas, injections of heparin and insulin, and body/weight conversion. It's not as extensive as a college textbook even though I still find it 2x as pricey as it should be for the size.
It served me well as a supplement to break the monotony even though it lacked any coverage of conversions I saw on my test(Temperatures C to F, Drums, grains).
If you can buy a used copy cheaply on amazon, I'd would not hesitate.
Good luck!
